Cafes / Bakeries

An SF classic for all things baked. We especially love their country sourdough bread and desserts - try the frangipane tart, banana cream pie, or almond lemon tea cake! They have multiple locations. Pro tip: order for pick-up, skip the line, and have a picnic in Dolores Park.

Great for taking walks or running / biking around. There's so much to discover in Golden Gate Park: from enjoying the outdoors to visiting a museum (De Young Museum, California Academy of Sciences) to renting swan boats at Stowe Lake, there's something for everyone here.

City advice

What to pack

When in doubt, bring a jacket!

San Francisco is generally temperate and is known for its "micro-climates". Weather can vary from neighborhood to neighborhood (and even more significantly if you're heading out of the city). Even when it's sunny and warm, the wind can pick up and temperatures can drop by mid-late afternoon. Dress in layers, and bring a jacket/coat/jumper just in case!
