Food scene

‘Delicious’ is all I can say about it. Saturday June 24,2023, my friend and I stopped by there to eat for the first time. I believe it is the best food I have ever eaten, besides my mom’s cooking, but my mom did not cook authentic Mexican food. The owner Dora, cooks, waits tables does everything herself. Delicious

Call ahead for reservations. Some days they close at 12:30 pm. It’s before the Canyon entrance. You see parts of the canyon you don’t get to see from anywhere else. They just upped the price to $100.- recently.

A short detour off Interstate 40 west of Amarillo, Cadillac Ranch is a colorful art installation created in 1974 by a group of bohemian artists from San Francisco known as Ant Farm. Backed by millionaire Stanley Marsh, the artists drove 10 Cadillacs off the side of the dusty highway (which follows the historic Route 66) and partially buried them nose down in the sand at a 60-degree angle (matching the sides of Egypt's Great Pyramid of Giza). The purpose of the unique display was to showcase the evolution of the Cadillac's tail fin - and perhaps simply to bewilder anyone who came across them. Over time, visitors took it upon themselves to "decorate" the Cadillacs with graffiti, designs, and murals.

I love the costumes of the servers and enjoy the rustic decor. It’s a lot of wood and taxidermy. They have musicians that play at the table. Sometimes there is someone trying to eat the free 72oz steak. It free if you can eat it all. Often on the weekend they have a band and have a large place for that. They have a free meal for your birthday, a Texan gift shop, It’s a tourist trap, but everyone should have seen it once at least. I take family and friends there that visit me from Germany.
