My Favorite Restaurants

The Willcox is a beautiful, historic hotel that houses one of the best restaurants in town. The menu changes frequently with a variety of gourmet options, and includes excellent service. Request to sit by the pool! Also home to an ambient, one-of-kind lobby with a variety of vintage furniture and fireplaces at which you can relax and order drinks from the bar.

A unique blend of Southwest-meets-East, with a variety of dishes from each place and some that are crossovers. Without a doubt it's the best sushi in town!

Tight-packed but moody ambience with one of Aiken's best burgers and fish + chips. A nice covered patio as well as secret tables in the back of the restaurant make this a fun outdoor dining venue that has a short but always delicious menu.

Housed inside a historic brick building attached to Eli Whitney's childhood home, this can't-miss culinary standout in downtown Augusta is bold and delicious. Chef JD Wier combines his french training with southern and texan influences, and even more surprising twists. Must try: the tater tot / french fry mix with truffle oil, and any of the rotating innovative cocktails.

A casual, counter-service local favorite that keeps you feeling healthy while on vacation. Hydroponically growing their own lettuce, blending unique dressings, and sourcing the healthiest ingredients, you can build your own salad or wrap and leave refreshed on the other side.

Known primarily for their extravagant cakes, which are an absolute must-order, but don't sleep on their yummy lunch and dinner menu either. Although, the dessert menu is certainly enough for a whole meal (or more)! Must try: the Hummingbird Cake, with pineapple, coconut and cream cheese frosting.

Neighborhoods

Park on one of the nearby streets, and walk up and down the sidewalk of South Boundary (sidewalk is on the north side of the street). Here, you can enjoy Aiken's famous poster-child oak trees, as well as the gorgeous historic houses, some with horse stables. Beautiful any time of year, but especially spring and summer.
