Just a short walk from the flat (about 7 minutes), this is one of our breakfast favourites. The owners are friendly and everything they bake there is exquisite (though not as cheap as a usual bar breakfast). They do brunch every day too (the eggs are amazing!). Closed on Mondays.

This place is great for a typical Spanish breakfast - cheap and cheerful with friendly bar staff. If you want churros or porras and don’t fancy the madness of San Ginés, then the ones here are just as good (if not better!).

Lunch

One of our favourite places to get a menú del día in Madrid. Delicious home-cooked fare, generous portions and a lovely owner.
