Food Scene

A little, cozy place...the best of Boxhagener Kiez! Amazing kitchen/taste from Lebanon, you can eat big sandwiches or plates (Halloumi cheese is absolutely to try, Shawarma for the ones who eat meat, Makali for vegetarians/vegans) !

Parks & Nature

Tiergarten is huge and wild (there is also an area in which great stones are exhibited) ! Some references around the park: there is a good flea market on Sunday (near the stop S Tiergarten); a Soviet War Memorial; The Siegessäule, with a panoramic view of Berlin at the top; the Bundestag, the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe and then the museum island at one side; at the other side of the park there is Zoologischer Garten, with "the zoo's Park", very loved by the people! In the park there is a Biergarten with a little lake and canals, the little bridge Rosa Luxemburg, a path with lampposts from all the w. Near Tiergarten there is also the area of Potsdamer Platz...and a lot more!

The park/airport of Tempelhof is absolutely to see and really important to the city life. I suggest to arrive at the U8 Boddinstr. and take the entrance at the end of Herrfurthstraße, in this way you have direct access to the garten area that people have built/rent in the park for everyone (and everyone respect the place).

Started in 1877 as a prison for homeless, prostitutes, homosexual and "work shy" people to reeducate, it served as prison under the Nazi era and the GDR, until 1990. Now the buildings are luxus-apartments, but all remained recognizable. It's a good walking also for the lake-area, that is directly connected to S Treptower Park (there are also some good clubs near).

Arts & Culture

A yard located directly next to the Hackesche Höfe in Berlin's Mitte district, is an important reference for street art, culture, history and bar-life.

In a old Gestapo-area, the museum is free and one of the most beautiful of the capital. The concept of the construction and of the exposition is really interesting, the place full of contemporary history...under the museum there is an important specialized historical library on National Socialism.
