This is a great cozy place with terrific food. Their happy hour has great prices on beer and wine flights and tasty appetizers! Their dinners are very good. The setting is on the golf course, so plenty of sun in a quiet setting.

This is a no frills place with a tremendous volume in such a small place. Thus everything is fresh. It's set up for to go orders but it does have a limited counter space inside and outside seasonal seating. It is one of the hidden gems on the North Shore. It also has a small market specializing in Mexican food. They will make a take out lunch or dinner for a family gatherings, with advance notice no matter how many people!! It's very affordable and they do a great job. A must do if in the Kings Beach area and looking for good Mexican food!

This place has a lake view deck and the best salad bar around. Burgers ribs steak seafood. Everything. Amazing salad bar and soups and views of the lake. A little pricey but worth it.

A trip to Tahoe is not complete without a stop over at Gar Wood for the famous wet woodies. Its is a wonderful tropical rum drink that I think is the best in class. Sit on the back deck overlooking the docks is the best afternoon you can spend in Tahoe. But show up at happy hour. Apps and drinks can get expensive. You might choose the value pitcher and save a few bucks! Either way it's well worth the money.

Three different Aerial Adventure Parks, each one uniquely Tahoe. Each park offers a variety of different courses for every level of athleticism. Each course consists of multiple tree platforms connected by a variety of different style events or “bridges” and/or zip lines. The experience is not a “ride”; you will be interacting and participating for 2+ hours.

Essentials

It's a Safeway in the mountains, so expect prices to be a bit elevated. Lines get long in the summer and ski season so be prepared to make conversation with some locals. Secret tip, get a breakfast sandwich for only $2.99 and just eat on the way to the slopes or beach.

Sightseeing

Hike to Martis Peak's 100 year old fire lookout and take in stunning views of Tahoe Basin. This hike leads to a 100 year old fire lookout near the summit of Martis Peak with incredible views of North Lake Tahoe. There are two options to get to the peak: Martis Peak Road - to get to this trailhead from Truckee, head south on Highway 267 for about 8 miles and look for a large pull off on the left side of the road. There may be a gate during the winter but the road is open for hiking. Follow this road, staying left at any forks and following the blue squares markers all the way to the fire lookout. This is a wide, paved road that is easy to follow, even with decent snow cover.
