Holiday houses in Sainte-Croix-de-Mareuil

The gite was lovely and Lynn and Nicola were very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately we had to leave after a few days because my elderly husband had banged his head on the low doorway (despite it being labelled as low), stunned him and cut his head open. In view of his history of subdural haematoma this was worrying. And then he missed the low step into the bedroom and went flying, injuring his hand and chin. We thought it too risky to stay on but this was our problem, not the gite's. We were really sorry to have to leave. The garden was ideal for our dogs. The neighbourhood was pretty, and historic with some nice walks. We enjoyed exploring the countryside. We would not hesitate to recommend the gite although perhaps not so much for people with limited mobility.

Un hébergement idéal pour les amoureux de calme et de la nature. Un accueil très chaleureux d'Agnès, le charmante hôtesse du lieu. Un logement propre, vaste et spacieux. A recommander vivement à tous les fans du Périgord.

The farmhouse is huge, beautiful and located in a massive garden. The house is old and might need some work, but we loved all the charm. We rented the house with 3 families (11 persons in total) and each family had it's own section of the house with private bathroom. We spend most of our days in the garden with big family dinners between the pine trees or at the pool (make sure to ask where they store the outdoor furniture). The pool is well taken care of on a daily basis. Lots of amenities, like 2 fridges, 2 dish washers, 2 coffee machines (Nespresso and filter). In the area there are small towns with bakeries, supermarkets and a wine store, but you can also buy froie gras and truffles directly from local farms. We had a wonderful time and made great memories.

Nous avons été chaleureusement accueillis par Caroline, elle a été attentive à notre bien être et notre confort durant toute la semaine. Nous avons trouvé en arrivant de quoi « manger et boire » ce qui nous a beaucoup facilité le démarrage de notre séjour. Le niveau d’équipement est supérieur à ce qui est annoncé : grandes serviettes de bain + serviettes de piscine moelleuses, dosettes de café, petit déjeuner complet, tisanes et thé, mobilier de jardin et de repos confortable, grand jardin privatif. Pour regarder les JO le grand écran était parfait ! L’espace piscine est particulièrement joli et bien réussi, l’aménagement est très relaxant. Les espaces pour les différents logements sont bien distincts et permettent l’intimité de chacun. Nous repartons avec de bons souvenirs de chaque endroit dont nous avons profité chez Caroline

Nous avons passé un agréable séjour à Mareuil. Le logement était conforme à la description, très agréable et chaleureux. Nous avions tout le nécessaire à disposition à notre arrivée . Cecile est une personne très accueillante, qui nous a reçu avec plein de petites attentions. Elle a su ce rendre disponible lorsque nous avions besoin et nous a donné de nombreux conseils des lieux à visiter. Un grand merci pour votre gentillesse . Je recommande cet airbnb avec un gros avantage sur le fait qu'il n'y ait pas de facturation en plus pour la literie (chose rare maintenant sur ce site)

Our accommodation was above our expectations it was a very high spec so extremely comfortable & luxurious. Set in tranquil grounds with a fantastic pool area & amazing space for outdoor dining we simply didn’t want to leave. Christine & Nigel were the perfect hosts being as available as you need yet not encroaching on your privacy. A true gem of a stay can’t wait to return.

Beautiful property, it’s remote and quiet but close to town where you’ll find shops and restaurants and anything else you need. Sally the host was very quick to respond with helping us find a local vet for our dog to get the required treatment to return to the UK and to give us an up to date code for the key safe (it had been changed since the one we were given but we were sorted out in less than 10 mins). The outside area was beautiful, a great place to relax with lovely views over the fields (for anyone interested in when you get sun, the property faces west, we went mid May and started to get sun on the pool area at around 9 and it lasted till about 8/8:30 but the front of the property had light from much earlier if you wanted to enjoy a morning coffee in the sun). We didn’t explore much locally but for those willing to drive I highly recommend Rocamadour, sarlat, domme, and la roque gageac.
