We stayed 6 nights in the house and overall, it was a good experience. First of all, the location was great — very close to the city centre. What I appreciated the most was that spices and oils were provided for cooking, which made using the kitchen really convenient. The house in general was very clean, and whenever I contacted the hosts through Airbnb, they responded within 10 minutes, so communication was easy and quick. On the downside, we had a bathtub, but we weren’t allowed to use it as a bathtub — only for quick showers. That felt a bit strange, as a bathtub should be usable if it’s available. Also, while we had a balcony, it wasn’t private. Sharing a balcony with other guests isn’t ideal, especially if you want to open your windows or blinds to let daylight in — it’s not very comfortable to unexpectedly encounter others right outside your window. Fortunately, the guests next to us didn’t use the balcony during our stay, so we felt fine, but this could be improved.

I loved this Airbnb. It honestly felt more like a home than most Airbnb’s and this is quite a compliment. I have stayed in so many of these that I have learned the difference. It was well appointed so you could easily have meals at home. There is a barbecue and numerous charming outside seating areas. The property is beautifully landscaped and private. Ligia had an app that answered every possible question we had about her place and the area from where to have dinner to what sites should we visit. It had grocery stores, hikes nearby, places to visit. I’ve honestly never seen anything like it. The property is quiet, the beds comfy and towels soft. It’s very well located for visits to Guimares and Peneda Gerês. The territorial views from the property were beautiful. Icing on the cake for us our the two dogs that visit.. They were the sweetest and enhanced our visit. One of the top places I have ever stayed.

Daniela has a smart, stylish apartment with everything you’d want. I can’t think of any negatives at all. She has a little balcony that is very tranquil where you can drink your morning coffee or maybe sip wine in the evening. It’s just a half block from a supermarket, and very near at least one other. The center of town — which is beautiful— is a 30-35 minute walk. Daniela and I spoke both Spanish and English, just because we can, not because of any difficulty with one or the other. Of course she speaks Portuguese. She’s a lovely hostess, and you will be glad you met her.
