Where to start!? Oaxaca View is just perfect and we couldn’t have had a better stay! The accommodation was like home from home. You have everything you need and it is spotless. There is bottled water on demand and the option of laundry, both very reasonably priced! We had lovely evenings on the patio watching the sunset, often accompanied by 1 or more of the 5 dogs who we just fell in love with and miss lots! The location is perfect - peaceful and scenic, but not too far from anything you need. Sabine and Stefan were extremely helpful, either when we needed help with local recommendations/directions or if we needed anything like water etc - they literally respond right away! The other guests were also really friendly and we made some great bonds; it’s like a small community at times but you always have plenty of privacy too. One night Sabine and Stefan even hosted a bbq with all the guests which was one of our favourite moments of our trip 😊 We can’t wait to return already!

Casa Magueyes, Oaxaca

A beautiful house, the room is very clean and cozy. The area is very quiet and safe, walking to the center is about 25 minutes so it is quite central. The hosts always communicated very well and gave us recommendations for getting around, places to go, and they always kept an eye on our stay. Highly recommended to stay here

Casa Chole

Rodolfo and Ale were the most amazing hosts — responsive, warm, accommodating. Our group had a little one, and they had welcomed us with a high chair and a sweet crib with a mobile. The home is like you see it, in a streamlined modern style with giant windows where you can peek at the mountains from the lofted bedrooms. The neighborhood is residential and peaceful with lots of street vendors and a traditional covered market. You can grab a delicious bite at all hours. And bonus, there is a paleta spot next door. ;) It is a nice long stroll to the center or a quick 100 mxn peso cab ride. It’s nice to grab dinner, explore the city, and return to the quiet. Thanks Ale and Rodolfo for everything! If you’ll have us, we’ll be back!

Picacho Cottage

What began as a one night stay ended up a week long stay as we slowly became aware that ALL the things we had been hoping to do on our trip were right here in Teresa’s home. The home and her family were a true blessing and it was hard to leave after spending so much time with them. Teresa’s mother kindly shared her craft of weaving, dyeing, and cooking while Teresa translated and provided her knowledge on the culture and history of Teotitlan and its indigenous people. We wove a rug, learned how to make mole and fresh tortillas ground from corn, cooked soups together and practiced our (very bad) spanish. Teresa even guided us to a craftsman in the village that specialized in indigo dyeing and we spent an afternoon dyeing our clothes blue. We hope to visit what has become our favorite village and home in mexico again.
