We've now stayed at Hirona's parents' place several times now. The accommodations are perfectly comfortable and complemented by how nice the family is. It feels like a home away from home for us. Add to that the number of great onsen in the area and the numerous outdoor activities, and I'm sure we will be looking to go back again in the near future.

I really liked this place. Set on a small river, this recently renovated house has 2 bedrooms upstairs and the lounge/dining , kitchen, bathroom downstairs. I slept in the lounge/ dining in a futon on the tatami floor - classic Japanese style. You could hear the river flowing outside. Very peaceful. You really need a car and if you are staying here. Though there is a bus stop 20 metres away, however buses stop in the late afternoon (my daughter got caught 3 kms away at 6pm when the buses finished). A very picturesque area, rural, surrounded by mountains. There aren’t any restaurants or supermarkets/convenience stores or even vending machines in easy walking distance. Though the restaurants may have been closed as I was there out of season. If you want a chill place to stay in the mountains (and you have a car) then this is your place.

A very special, tranquil space with thoughtful touches and amazing amenities. The Airbnb is spacious, comfortable, well equipped for cooking in a kitchen that has breathtaking views over the lake. Once we checked in we didn't leave the house because it was such a calming environment. The sauna and hot tub were easy to use, the sound system and TV are very high quality, the bed was comfortable, there is even floor heating in the kitchen which was helpful for the colder evenings. Highly recommend staying here for a memorable experience in the countryside!
