Family-friendly holiday rentals in St Helens

A lovely few days away while we visited Chester Zoo. No problems at all, very comfortable and welcoming. Thank you.

We loved the farmhouse, it was very spacious, the facilities were excellent, the hot tub was fab! Lovely garden with plenty of shade (were lucky with a hot weather weekend!) . Very good location for visiting Chester / Blue Planet Aquarium etc. We had local family joining us for a buffet lunch one day and there was plenty of crockery/ cutlery/ serving dishes etc. Ben was swift to respond to/sort out a couple of minor issues, and was very helpful. We would definitely like to come and stay again! Thank you!

This was our second visit to Lynne's place and once again we had a wonderful time. Lynne was a congenial host and the apartment had everything as described. A two minute walk takes one down to the River Mersey foreshore with paved footpath alongside, and Anthony Gormley's "The Men" can be seen en route. From the kitchen the view of the garden and over to the West Lancashire Golf Course is delightful. Parking right outside and short walk to train station were a bonus. We look forward to another return visit one day.

Lovely house. Super clean, hot tub was great and the pool table was a great addition. Secure paddock for the dog to run around and the host was amazing moving the sheep and alpacas into the far paddock to accommodate. Would book again.

We loved our stay in the old farm office. The scenery is stunning. We saw goats, owls, bats, horses, lama, kestrels and a plethora of wildlife. Lovely river walk very close to the sight. We loved the log burner and the easy access to all the things we needed. I would definitely check in again. We want to try the Shepard hut next

Absolutely amazing property. We came here for our parents' joint 70th birthday and it was PERFECT. The games room, hottub and garden provided loads of entertainment for everyone. The views from the garden are amazing as well. Sophie and Lucy were super responsive and even went out to get a new BBQ for us when the existing one broke. Would definitely recommend and would come back in an instant

This place was great and would recommend. Really nice and quiet surroundings but not too far away from plenty of dining and drinking options. The house was spacious and clean. Communication with hosts was also really easy.

Just got back from a 2 night stay, it was lovely and peaceful and definitely relaxing 😌 While recovering from a broken ankle we needed to get away....was going stir crazy. Richard was such a lovely host, very helpful from my first enquiry with him. He was honest about the ground and steps up, he was great from the moment we met him. Honestly, it was awesome, we are definitely going back, when my ankle is heeled because the views and surrounding areas are beautiful and I can't wait to be able to walk them. The dogs also loved it....1 of them is very nervous and reactive, he was calm and loved it! Thanks Richard and family.... If you like peaceful, quiet, views, walks, hot tub and calming space....book it x

Without doubt, one of the best Airbnbs I've ever stayed in! Absolute spotless inside, beautiful garden, exactly as described and a fantastic location for getting to Manchester. Mike has thought of every detail and it was ideal for myself, my husband, our two boys and our dog. Honestly couldn't fault it. Mike's instructions were easy to follow and he provided lots of helpful information before we arrived. 100% recommend!

We absolutely loved our stay at Barley Rise and hope to return. The lodge is very well located for exploring the local area. The information pack and laminated instructions by Kay were very useful. Everything in the property was fantastically clean and well laid out. It's incredibly quiet, peaceful and private. We were greeted by a very friendly dog, who didn't bark at all nor jump up. The rest of the time, he was kept away although we would have loved to see more of him! Tommy the horse was another very welcome friend, and we loved seeing him happily rolling around. Special mention for the walk in shower, which had excellent water pressure! My partner is extremely fussy about showers but wished he could take it home with him. Please don't hesitate to book, I truly doubt you would find a more pleasant stay at this price in Cheshire.

Heather (acting on behalf of Chris) was extremely helpful and responsive. We received clear instructions on how to work the heating and how to enter the property, as well as useful info on local amenities. The house has everything you’d need for a short or medium stay and the location is excellent for visiting central Manchester and the surrounding area. The garden is enclosed with a high fence, which made it perfect for our dog to play in. We also appreciated the dishwasher and washing machine and tumble dryer, which we were able to make use of. We couldn’t fault this property!

Beautiful apartment over 2 stories. Lovely large lounge and dining area. 5 minute walk to the town centre with all the shops, pubs and restaurants.

Excellent location with great parking

This apartment is in a perfect location for sightseeing. Five minutes walk from Albert Docks and the shopping centre. Lots of bars and restaurants also within easy walking distance. The apartment was clean and well equipped and there was plenty of room for the 5 of us

Excellent accommodation, exactly as described. Two well appointed bedrooms with powerful hot showers. We really appreciated the toys, tractor and box of Lego which kept our grandson busy for quite a few hours. Very welcoming hosts, and two lovely labradors who came to say hello. Only a short drive to Loggerheads Country Park for a great walk with lovely scenery.

We were a family group of 6 adults and fitted very comfortably into Mickle Corner. Great having two bathrooms and lots of space for all of us. Lovely, comfy beds, cosy living room and lots of dining areas. Enjoyed the garden as the weather was great. A perfect location for Chester city centre and the surrounding areas. Amanda was so responsive and helpful, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this property.

A great little place to stay. Sarah was always quick to respond. The place has everything you need for a short stay, plus there’s a shop nearby. The bus stop is nearby too for getting a bus into Sale centre or sometimes I just walked in. I also enjoyed running round the area and along the canal.

Had an excellent couple of nights staying here. The host was helpful and quick to respond when I got in touch. Location was really good.

We had a fabulous stay at the apartment great location, clean with a very comfortable bed. Also with a short walk into town past historic buildings. A big plus for us was the parking permit and being able to park just outside the apartment. We really loved Liverpool and will be returning and staying at this apartment again definitely recommend.

What a fantastic place to stay! I couldn’t recommend it more highly. It was perfect for our family — comfortable, peaceful, and full of warmth and charm. Conveniently located near central Altrincham, with easy tram access to Manchester city center. This isn’t a 'corporate' Airbnb, but a thoughtfully maintained home with real character. We’ll definitely stay here again!

Louise was incredible! So friendly, helpful, she even lent us an extra jacket of hers and an umbrella because it was raining when we got there. So very, very nice of her. The place is wonderful, with an incredible garden, comfy, and the neighborhood pleasant to walk around, near shops, yet private. Just a great stay, and such a great host. Proximity to both downtown Chester and the incredible Chester Zoo also made it a great stay.

We stayed at this beautiful Airbnb in Manchester city centre over the bank holiday weekend, as I was getting married at the nearby Castlefield Rooms. The location couldn’t have been more perfect – right on the lock, just a short walk to the venue, and surrounded by charming canalside views. The house itself is absolutely stunning – stylish, clean, and full of character, with plenty of space for getting ready on the big day. Sarah, the host, was fantastic – super responsive and helpful, answering any questions quickly which made planning much easier. Given the central location and proximity to the bars across the lock, it did get lively in the evenings (especially over a bank holiday), but ear plugs were thoughtfully provided and made a real difference. Overall, a brilliant spot if you want to be in the heart of the action, with a gorgeous space to come back to. Highly recommend for special occasions or a fun city break.
