Family-friendly holiday rentals in Stann Creek District

I can't say enough about the Villas at Cocoplum! The property is absolutely gorgeous. The condos are amazing and have everything you need. The beds were very comfortable and AC worked perfect! We couldn't have asked for anything better. Even though it's in a gated area, all of Placencia is safe. The best way to get there is by Tropic Air and then rent golf carts. Most companies will have the golf carts waiting for you at the airport. There is no need to rent a car, unless you are going to drive to Placencia. We did rent a van and went to the Maya King Waterfalls for a day. It was perfect. If we ever travel back to that area, we will definitely stay at Villas at Cocoplum!

We spent 13 days at the villas at Cocoplum. We loved the location being in the middle of the peninsula. Having a golf cart gave us all the freedom we needed to do all we wanted. The pool and private dock were a huge plus. The staff at Cocoplum were very friendly and very helpful. Very easy location to experience the many excursions Belize has to offer. The villa has everything you need. We would highly recommend staying at Cocoplum villas.

Cocoplum Condos are great. We have stayed at over 20 condos in the past few years. The pool area is our all time favorite. It has beautiful trees for partial shade and is next to a lovely sand beach. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. We had a car rental and Herbert sent directions to the condo and was waiting for us when we arrived. We spent lots of time on the deck enjoying the peaceful surroundings when we weren't in the pool or hot tub! This is a perfect condo for two couples or a family with children.

My family of six (ages 52, 44, 42, 20, 15, 13) enjoyed our stay at the Villas of Cocoplum. The grounds were beautiful, very well cared for. The dock was great since it offered shade and sun. My son loved fishing off of it. We even got picked up at the dock when we were having boat days. It was so convenient. The two condos on the top floor had a great view and were comfortable. A/C worked really well! Anytime I had a question or needed help, the staff would respond within minutes. They were so kind and helpful! My only suggestion is to add some additional plates, coffee cups and kitchen utensils - but not really a big deal at all. Great place to stay, definitely felt like a good deal for the money spent.

This condo was great! Management was very helpful with assisting us with planning activities and meals. Be aware that the location is a bit away from Placencia village and will require a golf cart or car. We were a bit nervous driving the golf cart after dark, so used a taxi service for dinners. Taxis are a bit expensive. Be aware that there are sandflies on the beach, particularly around sunset, they were a minor annoyance, but be sure to have bug repellant on, when walking the beach, this is an issue all across Belize. This was our homebase for activities in the area, which included a visit to Cockscomb, Ranguana Caye and fishing. (They picked us up and delivered us with a pile of fish at the Cocoplum dock). We enjoyed meals, lounging and drinks on the beach right next door at the Naia resort. I am a photographer and enjoyed the cool mornings on the patio taking photos of beautiful birds right from the patio. Overall it was a great experience and we will be back.

This was our first trip to Belize. The surroundings are beautiful and peaceful. We enjoyed fishing from the pier, swimming in the pool and kayaking. The villa was comfortable and clean. It has all the necessities and comforts of home. Herbert was very responsive to our questions including the staff who made us feel welcome. I would recommend a vehicle to go into Placencia. We did book several excursions and they picked us up at the Villas. Highly recommend staying at the Villas at Cocoplum! Carla L.,

CoCo Plum was incredible, Everything was as advertised and provided a pefect place for our vacation, Great accomodations, Pool, Toys, Ocean access, Staff, Everything was great. Kimberley was a great host always providing good information, the tours she suggested and the guides were spot on. Will be going back and hopefully soon !

Ratka and Byron were phenomenal. They gave us great recommendations for food and activities. The place was beautiful and everyone was very friendly . They even were able to add air to our rental car tire . Truely full service . I would recommend their resort to anyone wanting to travel to Belize.

place was very nice and well described! might not be best suited for people looking for luxurious room, we were backpacking and it was perfect! right on the water and super close to a bunch of restaurants :) would really recommend thank you for having us!

This location was amazing the view , the snorkeling , everything was great about it.

We had a wonderful few days at TREES. It’s a beautiful place, an organic farm, ecology research and education centre. We stayed in a great cabin surrounded by nature. We cooked some of our own food but also had good meals in the main building. It was a great opportunity to meet ecology specialists who were doing research and students. We went on a fascinating night forest walk looking for tree frogs. If you like peace and tranquility, this is the spot. There is a yoga area, a library, walking trails and a swimming hole. Buses stop right outside the door and we used TREES as a base for visiting the coast. We bought food supply’s on route but meals and drinks are available. A lovely, friendly and interesting place.

The cabin is right on the beach with sea view. Quick to reach from the bus stop or the water taxi dock and yet in the middle of the coastal town. For me, it was the ideal place to stay.

Had a wonderful vacation with 5 friends. The house was great, felt more like a hotel with very private rooms. The pool and downstairs bar area/common space was heavily used and the staff was top notch. The beach access was so convenient. Very quiet neighborhood and felt very safe. The chef was also super convenient and made it so we didn’t have to think about what to eat on those 3 days, which was a nice change from the real world. Only thing to note is that one of the bedrooms doesn’t have full walls and connects to the living room/kitchen, so not a lot of privacy (including the bathroom not having full walls), the master suite all the way upstairs doesn’t have a full door, so might not be great for two people (has an amazing deck and outdoor shower), and the bunk bed room is tiny and really is made for children. Other than those details to be aware of, the house is amazing and the staff is so kind and helpful.

The cabana was perfect. Ocean at your feet. Swam everyday. Beautiful breeze no need for air conditioning. Lived in my hammock. Everything is within walking distance. The caretaker Tracy was fantastic. So helpful, and kind. I would definitely stay again. The people of Belize are so warm.

Great little cabin in the jungle - lots of hiking, a few great swim spots on the river. This place is wonderful - highly recommend.

This beachfront Airbnb in Placencia, Belize, is a fantastic choice for a peaceful getaway. The location is perfect—steps from a private beach and close to the village. The house was clean, well-equipped, and comfortable, with a lovely patio overlooking the ocean. Rene, the host, was very responsive and ensured we had everything we needed. Highly recommend :)

Phil's place is a great location for exploring Belize without the tourists! Centrally located in the southern part of the country, it was within an hour of great little villages like Placencia, Dangriga and Hopkins, as well as the mountains and cayes for hiking, zip lining, snorkeling, caving...you name it. It's off the beaten path, nestled in a reserve so be prepared for driving on dirt roads to get there, but hey, it's Belize, so that's common and you'll get used to it. We drove from Belize City so didn't take up Phil's offer to rent his personal Jeep, but you'll definitely need an SUV (that's all rental companies provide anyway). It's a good place to stay if you are allergic to tourists and want a nice quiet, peaceful home with all the amenities....but close enough to drive in for dinner or drinks with expats or tourists if you get lonely. Phil's house was super clean, safe, beautiful, comfortable and well provisioned. We stayed with our two teenage boys who loved the pool and the beach club with access to the ocean, paddle boards and kayaks. We had it to ourselves most days! There is no cable TV (which we loved) but Phil's got the most amazing collection of movies (1,000+) so you won't be bored (movie night was every night!). Since it's a bit remote, you likely won't be going out to eat every day, so stop by a grocery store in any of the towns on the way in or the surprisingly well-stocked store on the community, including a case of Belikin beer in a returnable crate (THE beer of Belize).

The house is wonderful. It has that “wow” factor when you walk in with high beamed ceilings and wall to wall windows highlighting the pool and sea view as your back yard. The house was REALLY clean, and had all we needed for the week - from the stocked kitchen with coffee and filtered water jugs to get us started, dishwasher detergent, a washer and dryer with laundry soap available, and no shortage of towels - much appreciated. The wrap around, covered patio gives both bedrooms access to the back yard. It was so nice having a private beach with plenty of coconut trees for shade. Herbert was great. He provided many suggestions ahead of time as well as in the book at the house. I appreciated the attention to safety as well, something you don’t always see in a rental. The area itself is pretty quiet and Placencia is only a short drive, where you’ll find shops and restaurants. We really enjoyed the week and would highly recommend this place!

Herbert place was peaceful, clean, and inviting. We all 4 enjoyed our stay and loved being greeted by the local 2 dogs everyday. The morning sunrises were amazing. We took the kayaks out twice in the morning and enjoyed the view and all the beautiful birds feeding in the shallow sea floor while the sunrise glistened. The beach was clean, but everyday plastic would be swept in by the tides. Not a lot and no fault of the host Herbert. My husband and I would pick it up everyday. Only because we are activist about a clean earth. I wish all people would recognize this problem. Thanks Herbert for the great communication and your beautiful home. We all had a great time.

Coconut Row was a great place to stay in Hopkins! If you are not a resort person this is the place for you. you are steps away from the beach which has chairs to lounge on. You may experience a few peddlers on the beach. our room was clean and had a/c in the bedrooms. Coconut Row's staff was very friendly and will help you with whatever you need. Complimentary coconut water in your fridge when you arrive and security dogs you love a good pet.

What a wonderful vacation! Having La Rontonda as our home base was perfect! Not only did the house/pool/beach exceed all expectations, we were just a short, fun golf cart away from the village. We loved knowing Reuben and Mariza were available when we needed them but had their home far enough away that we still felt very private, the gate was nice also! A golf cart made every journey into town an adventure, would highly recommend Captain Jacks for the golf cart rental. The private beach was wonderful, we felt like we were on our very own on island. Thank you so much Rene for your quick responses to my many questions! We give La Rotonda 5 stars!

We loved our stay! Clean space with everything we needed and central location. The pool was an extra bonus. Recommend to the Airbnb community. Phil was a great host.

Linda’s place is exactly as described. The apartments are specious and well organized with great privacy to parents and older kids. The highlight is the amazing beach that beats everything else. Clean sandy, very quiet and private. We had a rented car so drive to Hopkins for restaurants and shopping was a non issue. Without that, the location might be little remote even for grocery shopping. Although the apartments are little outdated and around Linda’s place there are newer properties. Linda and Mike are super helpful and it’s worth the difference in my mind. No doubt, when I return to Hopkins, that place will be my first choice
