A beautiful cottage in a lovely village. The rear with its babbling brook, field views and multiple seating areas is a highlight. The freshly baked bread, eggs and milk that were left for us, made for a lovely breakfast. The local pub was characterful, friendly and had great food and beers. Plenty of walks from your doorstep. We throughly enjoyed our stay and plan to return.

Lucy’s cottage is stunning! Even more beautiful than the pictures! We had a really lovely time - Youlgreave is a wonderful village with 3 pubs, cafe’s and a little shop, plus being close to other attractions in the Peak District! Fabulous host, brilliant location, beautiful cottage!

Really lovely place with comfortable beds and a lovely garden. I would highly recommend it. It’s very private and quiet with the garden backing up to a field. We really enjoyed our two nights there with friends.

The Old Timber Store was everything and more, a gorgeous little gem nestled in the Derbyshire Hills. The property itself was tastefully decorated with beautiful furnishings (I’ve definitely taken some inspiration for my own home!), and the location was lovely! The amenities in the village were wonderful and the property was so close to Haddon Hall and Chatsworth - was really easy to nip back and forth with our 6 month old daughter. A wonderful stay with lots of gorgeous walks, if you’re thinking about booking this place - do it!

It was a quick couple of days stay in a very cute accommodation and the scenery was outstanding. Karen greeted us on arrival and offered us milk for a nice cup of tea. Would highly recommend for a quick getaway in the countryside and close enough to town.

Wow - this was by far the best “hot tub” break we have been on and we have been on a few. The dome is so unique. You have the luxury of a full kitchen and bathroom, electricity and WIFI coupled with the secluded rustic countryside setting. There is so much open space around the dome with no one else around. The pond is amazing and we went paddle boarding/canoeing everyday using the equipment kindly provided. There is a wood burner in side the dome and a fire pit outside with plenty of wood supplied free of charge. I honestly cannot recommend this place enough!

Beautiful cottage set in wonderful grounds with a playhouse for the little ones. The pool was great too. Such a great place to stay, and under 10 minutes from Ashbourne. Around 30 mins to kid friendly hiking/walking in the Dales. Highly recommend.

We had a wonderful weekend here. Beautiful cottage in a gorgeous, tranquil setting with superb hosts, very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. They had thought of everything from a welcome bottle of wine and sweet treats to robes, sliders and even treats for the dog! Comfortable beds, well-equipped kitchen, lovely pool and hot tub. We will definitely return. If you’re looking for rest and relaxation in quiet and peaceful surroundings this is the place for you.

The snug little pods are a perfect place to stay, overlooking open dales with sheep and cows, ducks swimming on pond right outside. Michiala could not have been more welcoming and helpful. we had all the peace and quiet we needed but she was always ready to assist as soon as we needed anything. Her cats and dogs were as friendly as Michaela herself. our neighbours in the other pod were super friendly too ..but with two bathrooms and a perfectly equipped little kitchen between us it never felt crowded. we loved being able to bring our own bedding because we don't like thick duvets, this meant we slept really well and felt absolutely at home.

Our third stay at the Shippon and our two autistic boys treat it like a home from home. So relaxing I didn’t want to leave. Our youngest loves water and animals so swimming, hot tub, fussing the lovely dogs, feeding Monty the horse carrots, all while being followed around by the chickens. He was in heaven! A great base for visiting family and lots to do nearby if we want to. This time we went to hoo farm, but we were generally all happy to stay at the Shippon. The Shippon is spotless and to cosy and comfortable. Our dogs love sitting on the patio watching the world go by and Newport dog park is literally a 5-10 minute walk and they love it. Thanks so much Sara and Phil, you are always so helpful and friendly. Can’t wait to come back!

We had a wonderful stay at Annabel’s and will definitely be going back asap! It was perfectly peaceful with gorgeous surroundings and was even better than the pictures! The pool was much bigger than we thought and was such a joy to have, the decking area was huge with stunning views and the garden truly magical! This was great value for money! Annabel was a fantastic host and very helpful and friendly and the animals were all very friendly too! The cats didn’t come to close though as we had our dog, who had a dream just roaming free! Thanks Annabel, be back soon !

Stoney Moat is a fantastic property, great location, really peaceful spotlessly clean with beautiful bed linen and a lovely private garden. We would definitely return !

Wow!! What an amazing weekend away, we didn’t want to leave. Thank you so much for a perfect stay. We absolutely loved the outside kitchen, playing darts, snuggling by the fire after a BBQ. My daughter loved the tree swing. Thank you for being so kind and dropping us off to Alton towers. The most friendly owners we have ever come across

this was our second stay at hurst cottage and was just as good as the first!. lovely cottage with beautiful gardens, hot tub was lovely and everywhere was spotlessly clean. linnett was very responsive to any queries we had. would highly recommend.

A truly special getaway in the heart of nature. The tent in the woodland was peaceful, beautifully set up and was perfect for disconnecting from the world and spending quiet, quality time together. Celebrating my husband's birthday here was unforgettable. Waking up to birdsong, sitting by the firepit, and simply enjoying each other’s company in such a calming space meant so much to us. Thank you for creating such a magical place. We’ll cherish these memories forever.❤️

Amazing location for Alton Towers and cottage was great space and worked well for the family. Only niggle was a noise monitor that pinged us saying we were being too loud - we were a family group with a baby all in bed by 10:30pm and spent the evening playing board games- so hardly rock n roll and it was 8pm on a Saturday when we started getting alerts whilst playing board games - felt a bit like we couldn’t speak or laugh - maybe lower tolerance of the monitor or just do it later ?

hidden gem! sanjay checked us in and was efficient, very polite and offered no ends of help and recommendations! absolutely perfect for what we needed, so close and in walking distance to most things. staff were amazing rooms and establishment was exceptional the stay couldn't have been any better cannot wait to return cannot recommend enough

The Alton Lodge was a fantastic stay! Lovely place, with lots of space and great amenities. Thanks to Watson the caretaker, for lighting the hot tub and for the tour! Definitely recommend!

We had a lovely stay - set in a picturesque setting . The place was very homely with a lovely little garden for my dog and some doggie treats which Oscar enjoyed - thank you . X

We had a wonderful long weekend at this property. Directions were easy to follow, and check in was easy. The barn is beautiful- spotlessly clean, well laid out, uncluttered but had everything we needed for the weekend. The location is stunning- an easy walk to Rudyard Lake, woodland walks and the perfect view of the cows in the field just outside the door. I would happily rebook, and would love to stay again.
