Our place is a comfortable loft on the second floor of a historic building in downtown Story City. It is a sweet little town to relax in that is an easy 15-minute drive to Ames and all its amenities. The loft has a living room with a fold-out couch that sleeps two, a smart TV, and a dining area that makes a great gathering space for families. The bedroom has a comfy queen-sized bed with an exposed brick wall. Also a dedicated office space perfect for long-term term stays for professionals.

Cute retro vibes and peaceful views of thunderstorms made the trip feel like a step back to simpler times. We traveled in for ten rail explorers experience and a few park hikes with the doggo. We were greeted with a basket of treats and a lovely note from Shea and Amy. The property was so accommodating and they thought of everything from available dog bowls and extra blankets to baby needs and board games! This spot is equipped for every type of family.

This home was very cute and cozy. It was a great place for us to stay. Beds were comfortable so were the couches. It was very clean and the check out was simple and they did not ask for you to do a lot of things like other places I’ve stayed. It’s with in walking distance to the downtown area that had shops, restaurants and bars. If I ever go back to Boone I would definitely stay here again.

Excellent location tucked away in a rural setting yet just a few miles from town. Private and serene location, a definite breath of fresh air. The accommodations were clean and well maintained. The addition of a pool table and foosball were an added bonus. Property owners live on location, but respect your privacy and keep to themselves unless you approach them. Which I would highly recommend as they are fantastic people, friendly and great to converse with. They were also very accommodating to our grandson, inviting him to feed the horses and goats, which he loved! We definitely recommend this location!

Great place overall. Kathleen even set up a space heater in the basement before we arrived since it was colder in the basement to help keep it comfortable. The only thing that could have been better was that the check out instructions said to load the dishwasher, which we did but it looked like there were some dishes already there and I wasn't if they were clean or dirty. Fortunately there was room for our dishes, but it would have been nice to just have an empty dishwasher when we got there. I would stay there again.

This house is super cute and has a great outdoor space. It was easy to communicate with the host and getting into the house was easy. The beds were pretty comfortable with nice pillows. There were plenty of pots and pans if you need them. There was even some flavored coffee that smelled delicious! We only stayed one night, and our meals were provided at the functions we attended, so we didn't use the appliances. Overall, it was a good experience and I would definitely stay again.
