Holiday rentals with beach access in Surry County

Very close to Busch Gardens as stated and easy to find. The home was very clean and had lots of brochures for nearby activities and restaurants. Everyone including myself stated having had great sleep. The host is very easy to get ahold of and quick to respond. I highly recommend this Airbnb!

Location, location, location! Being right on the beach and having such a beautifully cultivated outdoor space was so nice! Really enjoyed amenities like the outdoor shower, beach chairs, and the hot tub.

A comfortable place to stay in Newport News, on the edge of a postwar village of English cottage homes that is quite lovely. Watch your head on the bedroom ceiling, one side is low. And the street traffic can be loud at night, but neither is much of an issue. we would stay again if available!

Seamless, easy, clean. The location was perfect for us with easy access to the beach and major roads. Our stay here was amazing and simple.

Great stay. Appreciate having the Keurig for coffee. Could use replacement cooking utensils as some were a bit worn and melted. Place has just enough for a short stay. Towels and linens were clean. Distance to the beach was a plus, only a two minute drive.

Bernadette's place is a fantastic getaway - very peaceful. The place is exactly as described. I thoroughly enjoyed the use of Bernadett 's kayak and paddle board (as well as walking ans running in her neighborhood and visiting Bethel Beach). I'd love to come back another time!

At first, the Airbnb wasn’t exactly what I expected, it’s a bit older and has a rustic feel. But after staying here for over a month, I’ve really grown to appreciate the place and the host. Angela was so kind and always quick to respond if we needed anything. For example, when we had an issue with the fridge, she handled it right away and made sure we were taken care of. I loved how easy it was to get in and out of the house with the keyless entry system (no worrying about losing a key!), and the fact that it was pet-friendly was such a bonus. My dog loved the backyard which was a great space and so convenient. Overall, my spouse and I are happy with our stay. The host really made the experience so much better with her attentiveness and care. We’re super thankful for everything she did to make us feel comfortable!

We had an amazing stay! The location couldn’t be better—just a quick 5-minute walk to the beach, which made it so easy to pop back and forth throughout the day. The neighborhood felt safe and peaceful, and the walk itself was pleasant and scenic. The space was clean, well-maintained, and exactly as described in the listing. The hosts were responsive and provided great recommendations for local restaurants and activities. We especially appreciated the beach gear provided—chairs, towels, and even a cooler! Perfect spot for a relaxing getaway. Highly recommend and would definitely book again!

We spent 6 days in this lovely little place and absolutely loved it. It was clean, functional, had a charming private yard, easy parking, and the neighbourhood is really quiet. We experienced the host’s excellent customer service when we encountered an issue during our stay, and the host immediately put in all the necessary effort to resolve the problem very quickly to our complete satisfaction. Naturally, we highly recommend this accommodation.

The Sonshine Home was in such a cute neighborhood with a unique history, mature trees, and only a short peaceful stroll to the beach. The house was so unique & cute and we loved the recommendations Dana shared. We tried out Si Senor, and loved it. We enjoyed making a puzzle in the dining room & sitting around reading after a long day exploring Williamsburg/Yorktown/Jamestown. Things I wish I knew beforehand: the upstairs, where the bedrooms are, runs about 15 degrees hotter than the downstairs, making it very hard to sleep at night unless you set up the fans in the hall and bedrooms to move the cool air into the bedroom to cool it off enough to sleep comfortably. Though there's no filtered water, the tap water tasted just fine. The cowboy tub drains a lot of water out of it, so the water doesn't cover you completely in the bathtub like most cowboy tubs. There's no shampoo/shower gel, etc, provided. A good, responsive host makes or breaks a place and Dana rocked! A 5 star stay!

Had a relaxing few days at this cute cottage on the river. Lovely porch with a view. Very secluded but easy to get to all of Richmond's attractions. Bubba the donkey was very welcoming. We couldn't come or go without petting him!

Adam's place was a great find! Beautiful home..loved the decorations. Made our stay in Norfolk just like home and enjoyable..will be back again soon!

Very comfortable and well-priced home, very easy to find, check in and felt a good location for the sights in DC - even without a car you can get a tram or bus into the centre, and the Metro was not too far a walk away either. The neighbourhood felt fine and safe. Parking situation was fine - it's only 2 hours during weekdays right outside but there's free parking with no time limit just a street away (2 min walk). Would recommend as somewhere to stay for a trip to DC.

This was was a great spot for us to relax on our way home from OBX. The house is big and comfortable and we felt right at home. We managed to get to the Bethel Beach Nature Preserve (nearby and on the bay), Haven Beach (recommended for swimming), and we went to the farmer's market. We met a number of locals who were all friendly. We wish we had more time to try out the kayaks.

We had a two night stay with the plan to spend a full day at Busch Gardens with my daughter and two teenage granddaughters. We found this home to be extremely comfortable, and conveniently located about 25 minutes from Busch Gardens. My granddaughters especially enjoyed the fire pit, with wood ready to light, and the supplies to make s’mores! Everything was clean and well thought out with great attention to detail. We look forward to a longer return visit before school in the fall!

Clean and Spacious for Four people. Great kitchen Space. But could use a better couch Seating in living room. Bedrooms. And beds were great. Would rent again.

Very nice place peaceful. We enjoyed the balcony. The place was close to everything. We really enjoyed our stay wle will definitely be back. The steps where a little to much but great overall.

What an amazing stay! I've never been satisfied with an Airbnb, the photos always are so much nicer than the reality - but Big Blue was actually even better than advertised! Merlyn's communication prior to arrival made things very easy. Accessing the unit was simple, and I felt safe with the self-locking doors. The unit was clean and so comfortable, with many personal touches - I instantly felt at home. I was overjoyed when I arrived and toured the unit. Really exceeded my expectations which was such a different feeling than all the other Airbnb I've rented over the years. The beach access was tidy and pretty, the gym and beach gear a nice touch, and the foot wash station was appreciated after my morning walks with the dog. I really can't say enough great things about my stay here. Hosts were friendly and helpful every step of the way. We mostly spent our time traveling around the area from VA Beach to OBX so I can't speak much about Norfolk/Ocean View. I would def rent Big Blue again.

Gayle’s place was a great location to stay at with our dog!!! Great neighborhood to walk him in and the marina/beach is an added bonus! Gayle was very communicative and check in was easy. The space of the condo was great for a family and large dog! We will definitely be staying again!

And the bed and pillows were one of the most comfortable I've ever slept on! Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend!

Gayle’s place was perfect for our family of 7. Each bedroom having their bathroom was fantastic! The decor of the condo was fabulous, and the grounds were gorgeous! Great for a daily walk. The waters view was beautiful! There was every cleaning product you could ever want, which I loved. Whenever, I travel, I always re-wipe everything down (weird- but a bit of a germ a phobia ). Also, the condo is well stocked with all the essentials of a home away from home. The washer/dryer with stocked laundry detergent was a bonus. I went home with clean clothes.-jackpot! The condo is perfectly situated between all the attractions. Colonial Williamsburg, Merchant Square, Jamestown settlement, and Bush Gardens was a pretty and easy 10 -15 ride. Harris Teeter grocery store is 5 mins from Kingsmill. There was a Wawa and Dunkin close by as well. Gayle was most responsive. Any questions, I had, she got back to me immediately. One of the best vacation stays for us!
