たけはら / A limited-edition Edo-period traditional Japanese-style inn, one group per day

Takehara City is located along the sea between Kure and Onomichi. The inn is a two-story, detached house with a courtyard built in the Edo period, located in the center of the Takehara Townscape Preservation District (a nationally important preservation district for groups of traditional buildings), a 13-minute walk from JR Takehara Station and a 20-minute drive from Hiroshima Airport. There are almost no people in the morning and evening, and you can spend a quiet time as if you have traveled back in time to an Edo period town. The spacious free space on the second floor is a large space with luxurious ceiling beams and a view of the streets of the town from the windows. From the room facing the courtyard on the second floor, you can see Fumeyakaku, a landmark of Takehara. In a space that has been artistically renovated with organic materials, you can enjoy unique art in various places. The bath is particularly special, with a hand-made ceramic bathtub by a craftsman from Yamagata prefecture, painted by the artist owner. The walls are plastered with a round finish and have art by Horro. The floor is covered with vibrant blue tiles from Awaji Island. The walls are plastered with Hiroshima oyster shells. Different walls in each room. The floorboards are made of 100% hinoki cypress from Tamba Sasayama. The tamped earth floor, earthen walls, plastering, and floorboards are all finished in a warm, DIY space.

This accommodation is limited to one group per day and allows you to enjoy the beauty of the many islands in the Seto Inland Sea and the sunset. Designed by the host, an architect who has won numerous awards overseas. Not extraordinary, but a "delicate life" with the theme of enriching everyday life. You can experience that kind of life here. There is a separate indoor bath from the Hinoki bath, but the view of Setouchi and the starry sky from the Goemon bath, heated with firewood, is the best. If you're lucky, you'll see artificial satellites and meteors. The water heated by firewood never gets cold. It warms you from the core of your body. The bedding is specially ordered from a long-established bedding manufacturer in Kyoto, and the bath invites you to relax your body and mind and sleep soundly. Most guests say they sleep well. During the day, you might want to spend some time in the lounge filled with houseplants. Enjoy the sunlight shining through the trees from the skylight. Here, the right answer is to do nothing and just be. How about emptying your mind? If you request at least a week before your stay, we can prepare local food from Oshima Island and seasonal food that we can get through a special route. If you wish, you can also dine at a counter made of pure cedar, similar to a traditional Japanese restaurant.

Because it is an old house, there are steep stairs (with handrails) and steps. We appreciate your understanding and caution if you have small children or have difficulty walking. It is a nice room with a Japanese-style room of 14 tatami mats on the edge and feels nostalgic somewhere. There is a step at the entrance.There is also a steep slope along the way. If you have large luggage or are concerned about your physical ability, please check the route on Google Maps beforehand. The water area is replaced with the latest ones, so you can use them comfortably. Parking for 2 cars is just 1 minute walk from the guest house. Amenities include bath towels, face towels, body soap, shampoo, conditioner, toothbrushes, and slippers. The adjoining takoyaki shop is currently temporarily closed.

100-year-old cozy town house, near rabbit island

Former traditional Japanese confectionery shop(Machiya house). Good access to the Tadanoumi port(about 10 minutes walk) and JR Tadanoumi station(2 minutes walk). You can take the ferry to Okunoshima(rabbit island) from the port. Near-by sightseeing spots: Mt.Kurotaki, Kaguya-hime museum, Preservation district of important historical buildings in Takehara city. Optional dinner is available at cafe area with extra charge. We are sorry but you will hear the noise from the cafe from 8am -11pm.

広島市内では現存の数少ない戦後間もなく､75年前に建てられた書院造りの純和風建築物です。大通りから一歩入り静かな環境で、小さいながら和風庭園もありゆっくりと寛げます。 1945年8月6日の広島原子爆弾投下による熱で一部溶けた壺や、約100年前の時代の写真など 舞ハウスにしか置いてない物もあります。 建具やｶﾞﾗｽは70年以上前の当時のもので､特に２つの庭や、床の間・書院など日本家屋の情緒が感じられます｡ 現在では、限られた職人に発注しなければ手に入れられない品々です。 5ある部屋は､３つが畳部屋で､就寝時も畳の上に布団を敷いてお休みください。 広島市の南区に位置しており市内電車一本で 最寄り駅電停①からは広島駅まで約20分 最寄り駅電停②からは平和記念公園､原爆ﾄﾞｰﾑ、中心地は20~30分程度で到着いたします｡ タクシーでは10分程度の移動となります。 近所に衣食住が揃う 大型ショッピングモール　ゆめタウン広島、コンビニエンスストア（セブンイレブン、ファミリーマート）飲食店（お好み焼き、ラーメン、寿司、焼肉、ワッフル、ベーカリーショップ等々）徒歩圏内にあります。

We renovated the villa, which was built in the early Showa era and has one of the best views in Onomichi, to be easy to use and functional.
