Takehara City is located along the sea between Kure and Onomichi. The inn is a two-story, detached house with a courtyard built in the Edo period, located in the center of the Takehara Townscape Preservation District (a nationally important preservation district for groups of traditional buildings), a 13-minute walk from JR Takehara Station and a 20-minute drive from Hiroshima Airport. There are almost no people in the morning and evening, and you can spend a quiet time as if you have traveled back in time to an Edo period town. The spacious free space on the second floor is a large space with luxurious ceiling beams and a view of the streets of the town from the windows. From the room facing the courtyard on the second floor, you can see Fumeyakaku, a landmark of Takehara. In a space that has been artistically renovated with organic materials, you can enjoy unique art in various places. The bath is particularly special, with a hand-made ceramic bathtub by a craftsman from Yamagata prefecture, painted by the artist owner. The walls are plastered with a round finish and have art by Horro. The floor is covered with vibrant blue tiles from Awaji Island. The walls are plastered with Hiroshima oyster shells. Different walls in each room. The floorboards are made of 100% hinoki cypress from Tamba Sasayama. The tamped earth floor, earthen walls, plastering, and floorboards are all finished in a warm, DIY space.

It is a pure Japanese-style building built 75 years ago, one of the few existing buildings in Hiroshima City that was built shortly after the war. It is a quiet environment just a step from the main street, and there is a small Japanese-style garden where you can relax. There are also things that only the dance house has, such as a pot that was partially melted by the heat of the Hiroshima atomic bombing on August 6, 1945, and photos from about 100 years ago. Some of the furniture and glass are from more than 70 years ago, and you can feel the Japanese house atmosphere, especially in the two gardens, the floor between the floors, and the study. Three of the five rooms are tatami mat rooms, so lay down a futon on the tatami mats at bedtime. For guests staying multiple nights, we can also provide a firewood bath, etc. You can also see the beautiful starry sky on a good weather day. ※ Because it is a natural place, in addition to creatures such as butterflies, bees, fireflies, and beetles, there are also creatures such as boars, snakes, and centipedes. Although we are taking measures, please understand that centipedes and spiders may wander into the room from spring to autumn. Daisenji Shrine, supermarkets, and convenience stores are also about 5 minutes away by car. It is also a good location for walking. The popular marine bath facility, Mare Glacia, is about 8 minutes by car (2.2 km).

This is the only accommodation near Shin-Onomichi Station. The accommodation is a traditional Japanese house, and you will stay in the main house. Limited to one group per day, it can accommodate up to 4 guests. Only one dog can stay with you (but it must be kept in a cage in the tatami room). Because it is close to the Shinkansen, there is noise and vibration every time it passes. It may not be suitable for those who are sensitive to sound. (It is quiet because it does not operate from 11:40 pm to 6:20 am) If you are staying with 2 people, you can have separate bedrooms. Or you can combine two single beds to make a double bed. Please let us know what you need. Please be careful as smoking is not allowed.

Former traditional Japanese confectionery shop(Machiya house). Good access to the Tadanoumi port(about 10 minutes walk) and JR Tadanoumi station(2 minutes walk). You can take the ferry to Okunoshima(rabbit island) from the port. Near-by sightseeing spots: Mt.Kurotaki, Kaguya-hime museum, Preservation district of important historical buildings in Takehara city. Optional dinner is available at cafe area with extra charge. We are sorry but you will hear the noise from the cafe from 8am -11pm.

We have the second house in Ikuchi Island. You can stay there whenever we don't use it. Please check in between 3pm and 11pm. Please pick up this house key from the key case on the premises. There is no WIFI in this house. There are no restaurants or convenience stores nearby. There is a cafe nearby, but it closes at 5pm. There are no street lamps around the neighborhood. Please turn on the outdoor light when stepping out at night.
