Wonderful place to stay in Unawatuna. Close to everything, easy to get bus/Tuktuk but such a peaceful environment gorgeous house and gardens. Lovely dogs who were so quiet at night. Ajith was really helpful and accommodating to extra requests. Lovely breakfast each morning.

We had a lovely stay in Darshaka’s property. His Mum, Veneetha cooked us varied, delicious breakfasts each day. The whole family were very friendly & helpful. We enjoyed a chilled break through this part of our journey in Sri Lanka. Thank you 😊

Madu’s place was fantastic—peaceful, quiet, and perfect for a relaxing stay. The house is fully private, with its own kitchen and bathroom, offering great comfort and independence. The host, Madu, is incredibly communicative and helpful. Whether you have questions or need assistance, he’s always reachable, either in person or via phone. One thing to keep in mind: if you want to be close to the city center, it’s about a 20–30 minute walk, as the house is situated near the second river up north. However, this also means you get to enjoy a quiet, secluded space with almost no neighbours. (bonus: you get to see some fireflies at night) If you have a scooter, getting around won’t be an issue at all!

Chaminda and his family are truly beautiful. I came as a guest and left as family. They are kind, friendly, attentive and true in their genuine hospitality. The room they have is great and the surroundings are fabulous. 5 mins to beautiful beaches and 20 mins inland to an amazingly peaceful temple set within the jungle. I was lucky to have a group of semi local lads staying near me who work locally on a site and whom were so friendly and welcoming. If you want to experience Sri Lanka and the heart of the people who make this country so beautiful and then stay here, for it is a special place owned by a magical family 🙏

We had another wonderful stay in the villa this year. This time I didn't book directly by the sea, but a little further back. The room was very big and the two beds were very comfortable. The terrace was a dream, where I could enjoy my coffee every morning at 7 a.m. with a great view of the sea. Breakfast was as delicious as always and really plentiful (great Sri Lankan breakfast on request) ❤️ The whole team is as helpful and friendly as always. You come as a guest and leave as a friend. Amazing! This Family is so hospitable! We were staying here for 2 weeks and were fully satisfied! + Breakfasts are delicious! And you can get real pleasure if you order dinner - they can cook whatever you want! + All that you need as a tourist you can get right here - the hosts helped us with transfers, bikes, laundry, etc. + Nice location - away from center and noise. Of the cons: - Mattress is a bit old but has good firmness - The hosts did not respond to Airbnb until we have requested a transfer. We even almost cancel our reservation, but after everything was great

My sister and I spent a week at Isuru's and it was a real treat! The accommodation is very nice and quiet and we were lucky to have small dogs in the accommodation to which we became very attached Breakfasts were very good and dinners too. small point: we were very hot in the accommodation despite the fans, other than that, nothing to say!! thanks again for a wonderful time

Place was great. A clean and beautiful house. Very peaceful surrounding and very close to a nice clean beach Luma beach. Tuk tuk easily available from the stay to anywhere in Galle. Amazing Breakfast and very nice hosts. Recommended.

A guesthouse where it is good to stay to find calm and proximity to the beaches. The welcome is great, we had excellent fresh fruit juice upon arrival. The family is discreet and always smiling. Great breakfast and dinner. Room is as described and clean. I would highly recommend it

My family and I had a memorable five nights stay at the Silva Surf Home. Mr and Mrs Silva made us feel right at home. The rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. Silva’s warmth adds to the whole experience. The garden is beautiful with lots of birds. They also accepted our request for late breakfast (the pancakes were excellent), which is super nice! Their house is close to the market and restaurants, making it very accessible. We made lots of friends while we stayed here. They also have a good laundry service. The clothes were looked and smelt fresh after the wash. I would recommend it to everyone who is looking for a comfortable stay and local experience!

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful heritage villa. We were lucky to have the whole house to ourselves during our stay, which made the experience even more special. The house is full of character and charm, with a lovely swimming pool that offered the perfect spot to unwind in complete privacy. One of our favourite parts was the serene paddy field just across the house—perfect for a peaceful morning or evening stroll. The staff were polite, courteous, and always ready to help. It’s also well located, with easy access to Unawatuna, Galle, and Ahangama. A quiet, stylish and relaxing retreat that we’d happily return to.

This is a good living experience. The landlord and her housekeeper are very friendly. There is a quiet environment and beautiful beaches here. I will recommend it to other friends.

what a fantastic location, wonderfull food and nice family!

Chani and Lali were lovely hosts! Very accommodating with check in, greeted us on arrival and were very friendly. The room was as pictured & described - very comfy bed, hot water! Shared kitchen facilities were very good, plenty of space in the fridge to keep what you wanted chilled. Location wise, the place is excellent - a very short walk to restaurants and the beach - but set back far enough to be peaceful. The hosts held our bags for us on check out day as we had an early start for a whale watching boat trip booked. Chani & Lali have built a lovely little sanctuary which felt really peaceful to stay at. Thank you, we enjoyed our stay :)

Lovely room and Maria was super flexible with early check in as our travel plans had changed last minute. Beautiful room and we love Rio! Only consideration was that is close to the train tracks and you can hear the train passing in the morning

A beautiful family room tucked away from the kaos of the Main Street. The room was beautiful, spotless and comfortable. The balcony was lovely in the mornings and the beach towels provided were a welcome touch. Everything is within walking distance including the beach, cafes and restaurants. We had a wonderful stay in this gorgeous place. Highly recommend!

I stayed here at Forrest Villa for a whole month. If you are looking for peace and quiet and like to be in nature, this is the place to be. A colonial house full of art objects and an extremely interesting library. The beach and the lake can be reached within 15 minutes by tuk tuk. The tuk tuk can be called at any time and is here within 20 minutes. The swimming pool invites you to linger. Monkeys, peacocks, butterflies, dragonflies, foxes and many more animals can be observed. Not to forget Freddie the dog and several loving cats. Guy is always there, answered and helps in any situation. The staff are extremely nice and attentive. An excellent breakfast is served with homemade bread from Guy and the fresh eggs from the chickens here in the grounds. All in all a wonderful, unforgettable place to stay.

Speechless is an understatement. As much an art gallery as it is a villa! Architecture, design, engineering - sheer genius. Rooms are generous with space, have a shady private garden, a bath with two showers and two sinks for couples ! The pool is surrounded by vivid lush gardens, it’s deep and cool and perfect for a workout swim. The place has got numerous lounges and working places, WiFi. But most of all we fell in love with hosts Mike and Wally ! These two aren’t just hosts; they’re the heart and soul of this villa. They welcomed us at sunset with hugs that made us feel like family. World travelers and dream weavers, they’ve poured their adventures into creating a stay that’s nothing short of magical. All design, art and lush gardens done by their golden hands ! Exiting the gates is rice paddies and a temple. Surf at Kabalana - breezy 22-minute scooter ride away. Closest beach - 13 min. The place is cool and breezy on a sunny day, cosy in the rains, ambient at night. Just perfect!

Great place. Everything is new and nice. Great shower, bathroom and balcony. The map locater took me to the wrong street so be cautious of that. Breakfast is not included (not that it is advertised) but there are many nearby options. Shady Lane has some of the best breakfast I have ever had.
