Reindeer and elk also graze close to the buildings. The nature around Grasbakken is both raw and beautiful - an arctic landscape where the sea plays an important role in the ecosystem.

A few km away from shop, cafe, gas station and museum in Varangerbotn. The place is most ideal for singles, for couples or for 2 people, and for those with a dog. See the dog park. It is ideal for birdwatchers, as the hawk owl is often just outside. Families with small children are generally welcome, but the place may not be the most suitable due to limited space.
