The beautiful contrast of the dappled sunlight, the white of the birch trees, and the green of the forest gently relaxes the mind. We designed it as an inn to get away from the bustle of the city and just soak up the "tranquility". The bathroom features "WABURO," a harmonious blend of cypress fragrance and beautiful tiles. Enjoy a luxurious bath time, surrendering to the free-flowing waters from the source spring. The interior has a Japanese modern interior that feels the warmth of natural materials. The accommodation can be separated from a compact but private space, and you can enjoy the scenery of the four seasons from the garden room.In this area, cars were not yet popular in the early Showa period, and mainly horses, cows, goats, chickens, etc. were raised and lived in horse shops.There is a renovated horse house on our property, making it a quaint space.The horse house is also a private space for guests.Children are welcome, up to one small dog is ok. Welcome to Richard Flavin's Washi House! Richard Flavin (1943–2020) was a Japanese paper artist originally from the US. He studied design in Boston and came to Japan in 1970. He later studied woodblock printing and developed a deep interest in the production of washi. He also cultivated the raw material for washi paper, paper mulberry. We invite those interested in washi paper and art to stay overnight and enjoy this space, reminiscent of a washi paper museum, including these unfinished areas.
