Go to the mountains and highlands during the day, and the tranquility of Satoyama at night. This is a rental cottage where you can enjoy a sauna, BBQ, and a starry sky. As a base for sightseeing in Azumino, Hakuba, and Kamikochi, you can enjoy a comfortable stay for one night or for extended periods. Access to Hakuba, Kamikochi, and Tateyama-Kurobe is also good, making it suitable for group trips, family trips, and long-term stays.With a washing machine and bathroom dryer, it's comfortable for extended stays. You can also get here by public transportation, but having a car is more convenient. Free pick-up and drop-off are available at Shinano-Matsukawa Station and Akashina Station.Other transportation and sightseeing transfers are available for 2,000 to 8,000 yen (both ways) depending on the distance, for trips within 2 hours one way.For groups of 5 or more, please consult in advance as we can arrange a rental car. In front of our house, which is sandwiched between the Hida-Buri Highway that connects the former Toyama and Takayama, there are the Nissho-bu Mingei Kan and the Yoshima residence, which are important cultural properties that show the rich cultural assets of Japan, and this area is designated as a preservation district for traditional buildings. You can enjoy the old town and beautiful scenery while experiencing historic buildings. It is a 2-minute walk to Miyagawa Morning Market and a 5-minute walk to Sakurayama Hachimangu Shrine, the site of the autumn Takayama Festival. The festival stall in this area is called Hōmeita, and it has a variety of decorations such as a palanquin and sculptures (1-minute walk to the stall). You can enjoy a relaxing bath while watching the garden from the open-air bath. The inn is located in Sanmachi, where there is an old town, and Kamisannomachi is just a short walk away. You can also walk to the Yatai Kaikan of Sakurayama Hachimangu Shrine, Hiei Shrine, and Takayama Jinya. Hida has many tourist attractions such as Shirakawago, Okuhida Onsen Village, and Shinhotaka Ropeway. There is a bus from Takayama City, making it easy to visit. You can enjoy Hida while staying at our inn.

Tateyama Station, the gateway to the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route, can be reached in about 10 minutes by car. Tateyama Foothills Ski Resort is a 5-minute drive away. Great for skiing, snowboarding. Medieval Haiku poet, Basho Matsuo likened eternal passage of time to "百代の過客", a permanent traveller. In his time, a hundred years was expressed as eternal. HAKU was originally built as a farmer’s shed about a hundred years ago. It was recently relocated and renovated for another hundred years. HAKU will welcome you as traveling companions.
