Our modern home is 15 minutes drive from Taupo but still feels like a secret hideaway. It is quiet and private with majestic views of Lake Taupo and Mount Ruapehu - the sunsets are stunning. Semi detached sunny compact studio joined to main dwelling by deck located on our lifestyle section. Studio has a deck divided from the main dwelling by a screen for privacy. Private entrance/lock box. Kitchenette, continental breakfast provisions on first morning supplied - microwave available (no stove top or oven) . There is a TV with chrome cast only. There is no free to air TV, Netflix etc). Off street park. You will need a car as there is no public transport.

Kowhai Retreat

We are a working professional couple who have lived in Taupo for 30 years. We have both been vaccinated for the Covid pandemic. We would like to wish a warm welcome to singles or couples. We do not accommodate infants, children or animals. We are a hop, skip and a jump from the stunning Taupo lake front and easy 25 minute stroll in to town, 3 minutes by car. Happy to host short or longer stays. Super convenient location for our Taupo events!

Great location, great shower, great beds!

I’m so happy to be able to share my wonderful home with others and supplement my pension 😀 The AirBnb rooms are separate from my part of the home. There’s 2 rooms and a bathroom. The bedroom has a queen double bed. The lounge has a king double bed and couch with a tv, a microwave, toaster, jug and fridge. It is quite roomy 6x4 mtrs. There is a small step up to the shower so take care coming out of it. You will enjoy beautiful Taupo. 😎

Converted woolshed, set on a small farm of 25 hectares. We have cows and horses. We are 15 min from Taupo town. The Woolshed is separate from our home, giving you privacy during your stay. From the deck area/French doors all you will see is farmland! We are directly off SH1, down a long drive way, making this a great location for those wanting a place to stay during a road trip, but also quiet and peaceful if you want a few days away!

Hi Belinda and Andy We had an amazing stay! The ambiance of the place was perfect – calm, cozy, and beautifully arranged. Everything was so well-kept and thoughtfully set up. The view was absolutely stunning and made the experience even more special. We all had a great time and truly enjoyed every moment. The welcome card from you was such an unexpected and thoughtful touch – it really made us feel warmly welcomed, and we were so happy to see it. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality. Kylie and Dan’s Lochside Retreat was absolutely beautiful! It was cozy, tidy and a very inviting space to relax. It was just as described however more stunning in person! Kylie and Dan had left added touches with treats, a prepared fire and candles for the outside bath. A personalised note was left on arrival. I would 100% recommend. Thank you Kylie and Dan!
