Bed and breakfast holiday rentals in The Solent

Un véritable manoir anglais, ancien presbytère, à la décoration digne de l'époque Victorienne... Et une vue magique sur les bateaux sur l'eau. On se croirait dans Orgueil et Préjugés : chaque objet et pièce est d'une décoration choisie et le jardin foisonne de plantes et arbres. J'ai été accueillie comme en famille par June, qui a ponctué mon séjour de charmantes attentions. Un petit déjeuner digne de Downton Abbey, sur vaisselle d'Angleterre et face au jardin en fleurs m'a même été préparé... Tout est à disposition dans les chambres et même davantage : mini frigo rempli par l'hôte avec attention, gâteaux, thé/café, chaussons, serviettes... J'ai été choyée comme à la maison. Merci encore pour ce séjour féerique !

We had the loveliest little getaway, everything was perfect from start to finish. The place was clean and cosy, and the hot tub was such a treat, especially with the peaceful setting. Thank you for being such a great host and making everything so smooth and stress-free. We left feeling relaxed and recharged. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a romantic break or a peaceful escape.

Was a lovely hotel. Walkable distance to the shops and near a road full of restaurants and bars. A lovely bar within the hotel and breakfast was included ! :)

Alex and Rebecca are kind and friendly hosts. They gave me plenty of recommendations for things to do and places to eat in the historic town of Arundel. The room has a very comfortable bed, lots of books and a view of the cathedral. Although not en suite, guests have their own bathroom on the next landing. Breakfast is generous and Daisy the whippet is beautiful!

We had a very good stay with Andrew and Janet, who are both great hosts. The room was spacious and comfortable with a lovely en-suite. We particularly noticed how quiet the area was. We also enjoyed chatting over breakfast.

What a fabulous cottage AND host ! Chris was super friendly , helpful , attentive and full of local recommendations. Thoroughly recommended. Look forward to a return visit soon.

Francis and Margaret were excellent hosts, very personable, with the accommodation as described. I'd definitely recommend and be a returning guest.

My daughter and I spent two nights at Alison’s charming cottage, nestled in the heart of nature – exactly what we were looking for! We booked just two days before arriving, and Alison was incredibly flexible and accommodating. One of the real highlights was the chance to meet and chat with her – such a lovely person: warm, welcoming, and full of great local tips. A special mention must go to the delicious breakfast! It’s a truly lovely spot for anyone who enjoys unfussy travel in beautiful natural surroundings, with plenty of attractions nearby. Thank you Alison for such a peaceful week-end in the New Forest…

Wow !!!! Absolutely amazing, Jill & Ian are fantastic hosts, such a stunning house in a beautiful setting, made us feel welcome, cannot recommend this highly enough, looking forward to returning soon.

Victoria and Keith are wonderful hosts. Very friendly people who make you feel welcome. Everything is nice and clean, the bed is very comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. Thank you very much for your hospitality, I really enjoyed my stay. Getting into Goodwood for the revival weekend was nice and easy as well. It only took 10 to 15 minutes from the house into the Goodwood carparks.

We had a lovely 4 night stay at 150. B&Bs don't come any better than this, with an extremely comfortable and clean room, and a really tasty breakfast with good choices. 150 is well located on the bus route and a short walk from central Cowes and the ferry. Paula is an excellent host and nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely be returning.

We were after a relaxing break and that’s exactly what we got. Elaine is a keen gardener and her garden was beautiful. We relaxed watching the garden birds whilst sitting on the amazing window seat. Elaine’s attention to detail is second to none. Elaine made immediate contact and responded promptly to any requests for local advice. She asked about food intolerances and I said so long as there’s plenty of tea and milk we’ll be fine - what a selection of teas, coffees, hot chocolate, milk, jams, marmalade’s, butter, natural yoghurt, orange juice, fresh fruit and the most delicious homemade bread. Elaine and her husband were the perfect hosts and we will be looking to return here in the future. Everything is as described. Would highly recommend. Thank you Elaine and Bruce for your hospitality. Amanda and Doug are welcoming hosts. The room was lovely and we really enjoyed the breakfast each morning. (The fresh pineapple was to die for!) Highly recommend.

This Airbnb was the best Airbnb I have ever stayed in. Vivien was the perfect host! We were here for Goodwoof, and Vivien even gave us a lift there! Room was beautiful and the estate is breathtaking. Vivien cooked us an amazing English breakfast. If I am ever in the area again, this is my first choice

We loved the sound of this property, all it offered and its perfect location for our needs this weekend. It also provided a beautiful and peaceful home for our stay. Everything we needed was provided and could be used in our own time. We were able to be independent but also to feel a part of Jane’s home.

We had a delightful stay with Clive and Angie. They are very welcoming guests. The room with en suite was perfect for our needs, and made for an affordable weekend visiting the New Forest and Bournemouth. The room was bright and spotlessly clean, with some thoughtful touches. We also enjoyed cereals, fresh fruit, toast and preserves, fresh juice and a good pot of tea for our breakfast. Home from home! The recommendation to visit Friars Cliff on our way home was perfect. Thank you for welcoming us into your home. We would love to visit again.

We loved our stay at Lordington Park for my husband’s birthday weekend. Harriet and the staff were very welcoming and looked after us and our two sausage dogs. The room was beautiful and we loved the gardens, particularly as there were plenty of areas for the dogs to run around and let off some energy. We would highly recommend a visit!

My second time staying with Brian and hopefully not my last! Rooms are clean and tidy, with everything you need. Brian also provided breakfast and tea/coffee, which was very welcome.

Perfect place for overnight stay on way back to gatwick. Very clean, quiet and comfortable. Continental brekky with fresh fruit hit the spot. Claire was prompt with messages and greeted us on arrival. The nearby pub, recommended by Claire, served quality meals. Highly recommend Claires place.

Marysa was a lovely, responsive host who sent lots of detailed instructions. She helped me quickly with any questions I had and she made me feel right at home. The room was lovely and comfortable, the bathroom was beautiful, light and bright and the house just smelt gorgeous. Overall I loved my stay. Thank you so much Marysa :-)

We had a great time in Madeleine’s place! I would highly recommend it and we would like to go back there again. The room has an amazing sea view, you can watch the sea from your bed. The breakfast was amazing. It was very nice to talk to Madeleine and she was very helpful. Thank you for your hospitality Madeleine!

Geraldine and her husband were lovely hosts for a recent stay when attending a wedding nearby. Although we had a small issue with finding the accommodation, this was quickly resolved and Geraldine also put a delicious breakfast spread on the next morning, which was delicious and much appreciated. We enjoyed our stay and wouldn’t hesitate to return.

Simon is a great host - very helpful, friendly and good company. His house is lovely, and we had a very comfortable and peaceful stay there before catching the ferry the next day. Thank you very much Simon!
