Kid-friendly holiday rentals in The Solent

Olive House was a fabulous place to stay. The beds are comfortable, showers are powerful and the kitchen well equipped. We loved the big dining table for family dinner and the comfy corner sofa in the living room for family games evening. It was a perfect location for us as we needed to be close to Newport but lovely to be out of town and on the River. It was great to be able to leave the car and walk along the river to pub for dinner.

Carey is always responsive and happy to help as much as she can, this is our second stay here and it doesn’t disappoint, clean and everything is thought of, will definitely stay there again 😊

We had the most lovely stay! We felt right at home, it was beautiful and comfortable and we were in complete awe the moment we walked in. The amenities were perfect. Cannot fault anything! Kate was extremely helpful, attentive and friendly. She made us feel so welcome and was extremely responsive. I would highly recommend a stay here and we will definitely be back to stay again.

We had a lovely very last minute stay at Stephs, absolutely beautiful home, was spotless. I felt right at home 🏡 comfortable beds beautiful garden large kitchen everything we could need for ourselves and our 7 month old son, perfect location very impressed great value for what we got would definitely recommend and return 🙂 Thankyou Steph 🙂

Lovely little holiday home close to the ferry port. Nice and peaceful area by the water. Accommodation was clean and tidy and compact with everything you need. Nice towels too which was great. Phillipa was very accommodating in letting us check in early. Will definitely stay again

Lovely little place very close (a few minutes walk) to the beach. All the amenities required for a short stay and perfectly comfy to use as a base to explore. Alverstoke is a lovely little village centre 1 minute walk away with a shop, deli, pub and fish and chip shop amongst others. Parking just down the road. Primary school next door means a bit of activity at 830 and 3pm every day, but didn't cause any issues.

My stay at Ellerslie Lodge Annexe was absolutely lovely. Nestled on the gentle slopes of Portsdown Hill, the annexe strikes the perfect balance between a peaceful countryside escape and proximity to amenities . From the moment I arrived, I appreciated the private entrance and free on-site parking, which made checking in and out seamless. The space itself was impeccably cleaned and thoughtfully appointed—comfortable, private, and ideal for both relaxation and productivity. Whether you're winding down after a long day or setting up a workspace, the annexe delivers on all counts . Communication with the host was smooth and professional. Check-in instructions were clear, and I felt well-supported without feeling intruded upon—exactly what you want in a self-check-in setup. Great stay in a comfortable stylish apartment. The location was perfect as were travelling without a car and could easily walk everywhere. Lots of great pubs and restaurants nearby

This place was great! Spacious, clean, and definitely on my list to return if I ever need a stay in this area. Close to the transit station. The host also had a handy dandy folder with rules, restaurant recommendations, how to work and troubleshoot appliances , and more. I loved that they took the time to create that! Definitely recommend!

We just loved the apartment. Easy location right by ferry, Waitrose around the corner. Very quirky and stylish. Would definitely return

Bright, spacious and comfortable apartment which was perfect for my partner and I and our little doggie. Fab shower and comfortable bed with fresh linen and towels. Ideal location for a short stroll into Cowes town centre and all the fantastic restaurants. We had no trouble checking in - really clear and easy instructions and we also had no trouble finding free street parking. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to IOW - thank you Kim!

Great location to get to lots of various locations, we visited New Forest, Southampton, Portsmouth and walked down to the shingle beach, which was only a ten minute walk! Lovely and clean place, small but not tiny, just enough room for two adults and two small dogs. Everything was a thoughtful touch, from kitchen wear to comfort. Would definitely stay again if I was ever visiting the same area. Jackie was super helpful and very friendly, which is always a bonus. The surrounding area is residential and also partly industrial but noise level was low, which we appreciated. Plenty of space to park your car and close to the train station.

Very sweet little cottage, beautifully decorated with everything you would need inside of it. Great location, with a nice pub down the road. We would definitely stay here again and recommend for all. The only downside is that it is situated on a busy road so at night you can sometimes hear the cars, but we didn’t mind.

Katie’s place was an absolute gem. My mum n nephew were visiting us and it was a perfect place to have them spend quality time with us. The place was very clean and had easy access. Thank you Katie!
