Castle Neuvillette World War I

The property is a chateau, in other words a castle, built in the early 18th century. Over the last decade it has been completely renovated; most recent renovation in the summer of 2017: new carpet in the bedrooms and the hallways on 1st and 2nd floor. The chateau is very comfortable and has 7 bedrooms and 3 bath rooms and accomodates 12 people. There is a cosy kitchen with a French Lacanche oven, a living room and a dining room. There is a large fire place in the living room and wooden pannelings in most rooms. A garage has room for 2 cars and there is a newly built summer kitchen with a large BBQ fire place. There is a small house next to the chateau, which accomodates 4 people and can be rented separately. The walls of this house have inscriptions from WW I and WW II, both from Allied Forces and Germans. The area is quite and rural. You need a car to get around. There are a number of chateaux in the area to visit. Our property is half an hour from Amiens by car. Amiens is famous for its cathedral and interesting museums. From Amiens it takes 60 minutes by train to get to Paris, Gare Du Nord, so day trips to Paris are easy to make. About 10 minutes drive (by car) from the chateau there is the lovely village of Doullens with several supermarkets, boucheries, boulangeries and other shops. Within half an hour drive you will find the battle fields of World War I, with several interesting museums and memorials. They are really worth a visit. Many British, Americans, Canadians and Australians come to visit the graves of their ancestors who lost their lives during WW I. The house is the place to stay for ANZAC week. The La Manche beaches are 1 hour and 15 minutes by car. The house is ideal for a vacation. And it is often used by people who invite their European friends to come over and spend some time together.

Wagnée Castle Gîte

The gîte comprises a relaxation area on the ground floor (salon des céramiques), a TV lounge with a library on the 1st floor (salon aux genévriers) and a large living room on the 1st floor too (salon aux fleurs). We do not provide the bedding but well the duvets and pillows, as well as the kitchen towels. The bedrooms are as follows: Chambre de l’étang: 1 double bed (160 cm). 1 duvet of 240 cm Chambre des choucas: 2 simple beds (90 cm). 2 duvets of 140 cm Chambre aux poissons: 1 simple bed (90 cm) et 1 « drawer bed » (90 cm) under the main bed. 2 duvets of 140 cm Chambre de la tour: 2 simple beds (90 cm) and 1 simple bed (90 cm). 3 duvets of 140 cm Petit grenier: 6 simple beds (90 cm). 6 duvets of 140 cm. The beds can be moved to make a dubble bed. And, if necessary, 1 sofa usable as bed (160 cm) in one of the living rooms. 2 duvets de 140 cm.
