Great place to stay in the Husavik area--very peaceful

Kaldbakur’s cottages is a special spot near Husavik. We had bad weather in our trip or else we could have taken more of the amenities but even still our stay was great. Before arriving the host sent us clear instructions about how to get access to the cabin which was contact free. Rolling up to the cottage the view was majestic. Inside we were able to get settled quickly and there were detailed information packets. They go to extraordinary efforts to stay environmental. The beds were quite soft. The blankets were super warm. On our departure day the weather finally cleared up and we were able to see tons of bird families during our short walk around the property. Husavik is also a great spot to stay. We chose it over Mývatn and were glad for it. One word of warning is the rooms are quite compact so if don’t expect to have place to store your luggage open. For us we had the luggage closed up in the common area and made use of the plentiful hooks for our immediate needs.

This was a great place to stay, it was in a great location for our adventure in Akureyri. The place was immaculately clean and had everything we needed for our trip. The host was great with communication and helpful.Highly recommend!

After we had been looking forward to staying in Heiðas cabin for so long, we just fell in love with it even more from the very moment we arrived. What a gem <3 Aparts from being perfectly clean and well-equipped, the cabin simply just spread such charme and warmth that it was the best possible place we could have returned to after long days of exploration and adventure. Great stay at this chalet! The bed was very comfortable and the environment very peaceful!

This was a great cabin just a few minutes outside of Húsavík! It was so cozy. We wish we had more time to explore the surroundings. Would definitely stay here again!

Very nice wooden cabin in perfect location

In Sara's house, we had to tidy up and clean up a bit on the first day to feel comfortable. Maybe other people are more relaxed about it, but we had somewhat higher standards when it comes to cleanliness. There was also little space to store your own things and clothes. After that, we felt very comfortable and enjoyed the time. It was cozy and relaxing, the view fantastic and the hot tub a great extra!! We were in it almost every day, even in storms and hail... Everything is available in the kitchen and there are even toys and books for children, which we really liked. Sara responded quickly and also offered us a discount on a whale safari. Thank you for everything, Sara!

We felt like home the first minute we entered the house. It's very warm, cosy and there was everything we need. The host surprised us with a few Icelandic chocolate bars as a welcome gift. The hot tub experience was also amazing. I totally recommend it, it was perfect 👌

I thoroughly enjoyed my time at this serene cabin. The views were gorgeous and the property is dreamy. There is clear evidence for attention to detail and the bathrobes and slippers are a lovely touch. The Mývatn area was easily accessible from this property. I would love to stay here again!! 5/5 🌟. Excellent cabin in a great location half an hour from Húsavík and half an hour from Lake Mývatn. Clean and warm, we spent two great nights.

Great location for visiting attractions in northern Iceland, such as Akureyri, Húsavík for whale watching, Godafoss and the geothermal area of Hverir. The cabin is very beautiful and cozy, set in a green landscape, with a spacious common area. The highlight of the house is the hot tub outside! The host is very kind and accommodating. We experienced an unforeseen issue and Stefán responded and reached out to us promptly. Highly recommended!

Spent a fortnight in Iceland, this was easily the best stay. The surroundings and character came as a very pleasant surprise
