We are good friends with the bartender, Gaby, and have been coming here for years. Small second-floor restaurant with great Italian food in the heart of the Castro. Reservations are suggested but not required.

Excellent authentic Italian food served in a lovely atmosphere. After dark, they show Italian movies on the back wall. The branzino is excellent. It's located just off Castro Street on 18th.

American Restaurant
“Wonderful comfort food--great fried chicken! The best seating is upstairs in the bar--very cozy. If you can, get a table by the window. One of the best Halloweens in the Castro I ever spent was at Eureka, gazing at the revelers below. Entrees between $15-$40, as I recall.”

“Iconic place, open 24/7, you might need patience to get a seat, but this place really feels like America! My parents always want to go there when they visit from France. ”

Burger Restaurant
“Neighborhood institution, The Patio, had been shuttered for decades to reopen for another SF institution, Hamburger Mary's. Fun and lively Drag Queens are the main attraction and entertain as you dine on eclectic burger menu. Full bar and happy hour specials. If you're short on time, hungry and wanted to see a Drag Queen before you go - check and check.”

“Good Thai - SPICEY, I repeat medium is SPICEY. If you believe sweating is part of your food experience enter and ask for extra napkins.”
