Pllek on the banks of the IJ in North is such a creative hotspot! Pllek is perfect to meet up with friends for drinks or a easy meal. It’s easy to get to Pllek Amsterdam North;just take the ferry from Amsterdam Central Station to the NDSM wharf & you’re there in 15 minutes. Pllek is made of an old warehouse and shipping containers. Completed with tons of sand, beach chairs and picnic tables It is nice to have a beer in the sun or catch up over coffee. Every Sunday afternoon there’s live music! Also other cool activities like yoga and massages on the beach.

Hannekes Boom is just across the water from NEMO. This laidback waterside café built from recycled materials has a beer garden that really feels like a garden, with timber benches & picnic tables.

Weesperzijdebuurt

The Weesperzijde area is a popular area, just e few steps away from the Amstel river. It is wonderful to walk alongside the waterfront with several nice terraces All facilities are within walking or cycling distance, including well-known cafés and restaurants as Restaurant Rijsel, Restaurant Drovers Dog, Café Hesp, De IJsbreeker & Restaurant Dauphine. Also theaters like Theater Carré & Stopera (Opera theater) are nearby or reached by metro in a minute The Sarphatipark, the Oosterpark, various (neighborhood) stores & a large supermarket are very close by. The famous area The Pijp with the Albert Cuyp-market starts right on the other side of the Amstel bridge. It's very easily accessible by both public transport and by bike The connection to the city is more than excellent including the tram (line 3) and metro, less than 150 meters away from our apartment (metro station Wibautstraat) with quick access to both the Train Station "Amstel Station" (one stop) and the Train Station "Centraal Station" (four stops) with the old city center in between. Very good connection to Heineken Music Hall - Amsterdam Zuid Oost (by metro)
