Founded in 1880 the Sperl is considered to be a classic synonym for Viennese coffeehouse culture. An interior just like one from the 19th century. Large selection of newspapers!

Café Sperl might just be the most typical coffeehouse in Vienna – plus one of the few old-school ones that is not filled with smoke or run-down. Charm, tradition and history is a great priority here!

With its gorgeous Jugendstil fittings, grand dimensions, cosy booths and unhurried air, Sperl is one of the finest coffee houses in Vienna. And that’s to say nothing of a menu that features Sperl Tort

Grand Café Central has a rich history: Trotsky came here to play chess, and turn-of-the-century literary greats such as Karl Kraus and Hermann Bahr regularly met here for coffee.

Classic Viennese coffeehouse, with live piano music from 5-10pm. There is also a little shop with nice Austrian hams - you can't miss it, they have ham hanging everywhere inside!

Historically a writers'/philosophers' cafe, it's located in one corner of one of Vienna's most beautiful buildings. The food's mostly great (albeit expensive), and there's live piano most nights.

A giant sparkling disco ball is the most noticeable thing in the restaurant — maybe not so unusual, until you see that the pizza is going to be cooked inside it!
