Harbour House

I stayed at Glen's self contained cottage for a night on a road trip around the east cape. the cottage with all of its retro fittings was delightful and I loved falling asleep to the sound of the waves on the nearby beach. Glen provided a generous continental breakfast including very tasty home made jams. recommended.

Pacific Ocean Heights

We enjoyed our stay very much! The place is located on a elevated spot above Whakatane with breathtaking views! Lorraine was extremely accommodating and making us feel like home! The place is very spacious with more than enough space for our group of six adults and two kids - they even had a kids toy box! Thank you!

The Observatory, Semi Self-Contained Unit

CandidaRating, 5 stars2 months ago
We had an unforgettable stay at Annie and Tautini’s peaceful and beautifully maintained home. It struck the perfect balance between feeling like a welcoming home and being a private, self-contained retreat. The view over the lush garden and surrounding landscape was stunning — a joy to wake up to each day. The hot tub was a dream after long hikes, and the location couldn’t be better: just six minutes from Ōhope Beach with plenty of scenic trails nearby. Annie and Tautini were incredibly thoughtful hosts — their recommendation to try Cigol, the Korean restaurant in town, was spot on. What made the experience truly special was the way they generously shared their time and knowledge about pounamu, local sites, and cultural traditions. We felt deeply privileged and blessed to have stayed here. Can’t recommend it highly enough!

The Shed

I booked last minute, Catherine had great coms straight away. We arrived late and Catherine was there to greet us and if we needed extra blankets or anything else we needed. Beautiful little place with all you need. The bed was very comfy and had a good nights rest. The shower had good water pressure also. Would definitely stay again next time we are back.

There was a large group of us staying for a function and the house was perfect for us. Large spaces, lots of bedrooms and all the facilities we needed. Such a beautiful location as well with the beach right at the back door and awesome views of Whakaari.

Tiny Paradise in Waiotahe

Great stay! A magic spot overlooking the water and directly out to White Island. Nice, friendly neighbourhood. The place has everything you need for a tiny house stay. Keith and Sue are super friendly and helpful. Recommend for a place to get away by the beach, especially if you’re after a quiet spot, lots of walks, fishing or cycling. Shops for essentials just 5 mins drive away. Hope to go back and stay again.
