The private heated pool awaits for a relaxing swim after a full day exploring ruins or touring the nearby pueblos! Lachigolo is a small and peaceful pueblo, about a 15-minute drive from Oaxaca along the Pan American Highway, and around 5 minutes past El Tule. The location makes it a good base for day trips to places like Hierve al Agua, Teotitlan, and Mitla.

We are part of a Zapotec town with nearby restaurants and easy transportation to Oaxaca city (25 minutes away). We offer tours to craft villages and archaeological sites. For the hiker, there are local mountain trails. And, the town of Tule is 2.5 miles away with its majestic 2,000 year-old cypress tree - a sight to see!

Juan Carlos was a very welcoming host and responsive to our needs. He was gracious enough to introduce us to his uncle who gave us a tour and tasting of their families Mezcal “Salvadores” made at a beautiful palenque within walking distance of Casa Tierra. Great tour and great mezcals.

The days that I spent with this family were the happiest in all my trip. When I read the excellent reviews I knew I had to try it and it was better than I already thought it would be. Food there tasted so good, I’m missing it already. I feel lucky to be able to own now some of the most beautiful and unique pieces from their family workshop.
