NISHIMURA-TEI Hanare - Kitchen & Dining

Nishimura Residence is an old-fashioned Nara-machiya that has been standing on a piece of Nara-machi for more than 100 years. I was a “grandmother” for a long time when I was a child. In Nara Town, there is a pleasant despicable feeling that never changes. "I want to be filled with this pleasant contempt even for future generations." With that in mind, I took care of the empty Nishimura Residence. - Nishimura-Tei is originally a traditional Japanese house which has been here in Nara-machi town over 100 years, where my grandmother used to live in. My mother and I decided to renovate this house to preserve and pass down the virtue of good old days in Japan to the next generation as well as to show it to you.

Our house is just steps away from the train station. Once you arrive at Nara, leave your luggage in my house. Then, walk through the Sanjo street to go to the Deer Park and Naramachi old town area. (We can keep your luggage from 11:00 am.) The entire of this two-story house(3 LDK-98m2) is your space. It is ideal for two or three generations of families or group of intimate friends up to 8 people. There are 3 bedrooms, so you can even ensure privacy among close friends.

HAT National Park, experience traditional house

The surroundings are full of nature, and if you are lucky, you can see animals such as wild deer, boars and squirrels. In addition to burning charcoal in the fireplace and enjoying the burning fire, you can enjoy the following as fireplace dishes. (We prepare 1 box of charcoal. Please prepare your food.) ・Hot pot dishes using an iron pot ・Grilled fish using long bamboo skewers ・Roasted sweet potato ・Grilled meat dishes using iron pan ・Grilled rice balls using a net.

You can rent out the entire 4-bedroom guesthouse! Located in a prime location in the middle of a shopping district, it is very convenient for dining, shopping, and sightseeing such as Kofukuji Temple, where you can see wild deer. There are four bedrooms surrounding a spacious central living room. After enjoying meals and chatting together in the living room, you can sleep peacefully in one of the four bedrooms. Our guesthouse is located in the old town called Nara-machi. There used to be many traditional wooden townhouses known as Machiya. We restored Machiya while keeping the original structure in order to provide you with a traditional Japanese experience with local atmosphere.This house is for only private use and has only one floor with Japanese style room, shower room, washroom, sink and small garden.
