220-year-old Blue Merchant's Mansion with Seasonal Vegetable and Fruit Harvesting Experience

KAIWA NO SATO This old house is an indigo mansion built in the first year of the Bunsei era (1804) during the heyday of indigo. The main house and the sleeping area (a barn where indigo was stored) have been demolished due to aging, but the historic living room and garden have been preserved to allow guests to experience a little bit of that time, and it is used as a farmhouse inn. In the old days, "Indigofera" grew on the fertile land of the Yoshino River basin in Tokushima Prefecture, bringing great wealth to Tokushima Prefecture (Awa Province). Ancient documents on indigo, including cultural properties, are also available for viewing. Enjoy the charm of that era and Indigofera. ＝＝＝＝ Feel free to pick and eat seasonal fruits and vegetables from the adjacent fields. * Please enjoy as many figs as you like in summer and autumn. This house is built on the quiet seaside in Shodoshima Town. The house was built just for dusk watching the sea and the sunset.Therefore, I apologize for the large number of stairs on the terrace, but I can never call it barrier-free.(I will do my best to help with my luggage, etc.) However, at the end of the high terrace, there is a glittering, calm and beautiful sea in Setouchi, and a kane-colored sunset that changes faces every day. Forget your time and enjoy the extraordinary. *We are currently not accepting pets for accommodation. If you would like to make a reservation, please contact us before booking. The interior is accessed by climbing the terrace stairs.It is not handicap accessible. Please be sure to accompany small children or adults when climbing up and down the stairs. Also, on rainy days, there are many stairs, so it may be inconvenient. The road in front of the inn is not paved. Please note that this may be an inconvenience. There is a lot of nature around the inn, so there are definitely insects.Sometimes insects come in together when opening and closing windows and doors.(Especially at night, insects gather in the light of the inn) We are very sorry, but please refrain from staying if you are not good with insects.

This is a private rental accommodation. The accommodation is on the 2nd to 4th floors. There is a bath and toilet on each floor. The rooftop terrace is also open. The 2nd floor has a kettle bath and can accommodate up to 6 people. The 3rd floor has a kitchen and can accommodate up to 3 people with a cypress bath. The 4th floor has an electric mahjong table and can accommodate up to 4 people. ※ Pets are only allowed in room 202 and the hallway. Please never let them enter the bedroom. Pet accommodation fee 1,000 yen/night (please put money in the can on the right side of the entrance) The entrance to the accommodation is on the right side of the building. We recommend using the Tokushima Prefecture Saiwai-cho parking lot, which costs 700 yen per night and is a 1-minute walk away. The first floor is a very popular spice curry specialty store. It is open from 11 am to 3 pm. There is an internet TV and a Super Famicom on the 2nd floor. There is a kitchen on the 3rd floor, and you can buy ingredients at the nearby market and have them cooked. It is about 1,200 m (about 15 minutes on foot) from Tokushima Station, and access is also good. We installed high-speed wifi in May 2023 to provide a comfortable internet environment. Facilities and amenities The kitchen is fully equipped with cookware and basic condiments. We also provide shampoo, washing machine, detergent, and bath towels. For environmental reasons, we do not provide disposable toothbrushes and razors. Please bring what you need. There is no TV in this facility. If you absolutely need a TV during your stay, please refrain from booking. Parking Information If you come by car, please use the nearby day park (coin parking lot).
