Holiday rentals with a kayak in Tompkins County

The house is beautifully renovated and very high tech!!! The kitchen is a dream. Loved the furniture and fire pit on the deck. Convenient to Ithaca and many restaurants/ hikes. Master bed very comfortable. Love that each bedroom has its own bathroom. We all took turns with the massage chair every night - it was a big hit! Lorena was very kind and responsive. Would definitely stay again!

This beautiful and spacious lake house was perfect, with an expansive porch overlooking beautiful Lake Cayuga! The elevator from the upper parking area, opening inside the home, was truly wonderful; while there are still steps and hills, it made life sooo much easier (we are used to flat Florida LOL!) Furnishings, beds. linens and a large kitchen were great and we truly felt at home. It's an easy drive to downtown Ithaca, the Cayuga Wine Trail, and other nearby lakes and towns. Our host was responsive, helpful and very nice :-) It was a perfect week there and I miss the lake house already! Highly recommend!

We all enjoyed our visit. We were a family group in the area for Cornell graduation. House was beautiful. Roughly 35 minutes from Cornell. Everything was clean and welcoming. Enjoyed brunch at a nearby vineyard one day.

What a great place! Private, spacious, right on the lake. Beautiful! Perfect lake home for exploring Ithaca and beyond. Highly recommend!

Can’t say enough about First Light II - the place was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed! And the view! Mario and Sarah Jeannie were wonderful hosts - great communication and so thoughtful, bringing over a bottle of wine and meeting to show us all the available outdoor equipment. If you are ever in Ithaca, I would definitely stay here! It was perfect for us for our daughter’s graduation!

Loved our weekend getaway chasing after waterfalls. The home was cozy, views amazing, and lake access was magical catching each sunrise. kitchen is well stocked with tea, coffee, spices and firepit on the dock was easy to use and there was a whole starter kit ready. I would definitely come and stay again.

My husband and I had the best time here!!! This place is even better than in pictures. Very convenient location, in the middle of Cayuga and an easy drive over to Seneca. The dock seemed new and was beautiful. The lot was private and tranquil. VERY CLEAN!!! Highly recommend staying here!

Neko was fantastic as a hostess! She was clear, communicative, considerate and kind! The house was everything I needed while waiting for my new lease to start. Just a peaceful easy break from the nightmares of moving! Clean too!

Loved the location! Even with having the max of individuals able to stay we felt comfortable. The water access was perfect and we were able to enjoy a peaceful weekend away!

We had an amazing stay! The property was clean, cozy and well appointed. We loved having our own private space to enjoy looking out at the lake on both the deck of the house and down by the water itself. So, wonderfully relaxing. We decided to make dinner ourselves one night to better enjoy our time at the house and it’s beautiful surroundings. The kitchen was well appointed and we had everything we needed including a grill in the yard. The home owner was very accessible and helpful when we had a few minor questions. The property itself was situated close enough to the town of Geneva for restaurants and the grocery store but also close to some unique wineries and breweries right nearby. (Side note: War Horse Brewery - Well worth checking out!) I would highly recommend staying at this property. We had a fantastic time. You won’t be disappointed!

Our stay at Kate’s was perfect for my graduation weekend. The house had everything we needed, and the views were absolutely stunning. Kate was super responsive and really accommodating, which made everything easy. I’d definitely love to come back when the weather’s nicer and try out the kayaks and paddleboards. Highly recommend!

We loved everything about Mika Life! Jude was so responsive and helpful-even letting us have a package of important forgotten items delivered to her home ahead of our arrival! The house is small but well and smartly equipped with everything we needed. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again. We loved it!

The cottage was delightful to stay at. There was a binder with details about local businesses that was very helpful. The kitchen knives along with the pots and pans are very good quality. My husband is a chef and he was delighted.

The place was very clean and everything was as described. Dustin was very responsive before and during our stay and answered all the questions we had very quickly.

This property is magical and after two years of visiting, has quickly become my favorite spot in the Finger Lakes!!! The house is well appointed with all of the little details considered and executed on for guests (seasonings, food storage containers, firewood, hooks to hang your personal items in the bedrooms and bathrooms, throw blankets, etc.). As soon as you step in, you feel right at home and the lakeside fire-pit and view from the top wraparound deck are serene and beautiful spots to enjoy your morning coffee or evening wine. We saw herons and eagles daily from the deck and if you kayak to the nearby cove, you can enjoy more birdwatching if you love nature like us!! The lake entry is easy to get in and the landscape and property are in pristine condition. Can’t wait for our next visit!!

John is the perfect host, I felt like a V-VIP. He made sure I was comfortable and was over and above helpful with every last detail. He has bikes for guests to get around on and would graciously pick me up when I got stuck down hill. He helped me with fires to enjoy the starry night sky, and escorted me to the cabin when I got back late after a wedding party. The cabin is delightful and serene, on the edge of his property looking into bright green trees. He’s got it set up for barbecues and has even put out sticks for marshmallow roasting. A cute outdoor shower, and an eco-toilet cabin behind the room. I enjoyed swimming in the lake, doing hikes at the National reserve & on the property, watching the cows on the pasture, star gazing, & trying out the local eatery spots. I highly recommend this elevated glamping experience with a host that will do anything in his power to make sure you’re happy.

This cabin was even more wonderful than we imagined! It's absolutely adorable. Lindsey & Perry put such care into furnishing, decorating, and making their guests feel welcome. It was fully stocked with everything you could need. The location was simply perfect. The lake is so peaceful and serene. We spent the days exploring and hiking in Watkins Glen and Ithaca, and spent the evenings on the dock. I can see why other reviewers have mentioned returning time & time again... I didn't want to leave!

Check in was easy and Sarah provided excellent directions to find the house. We enjoyed the screened in porch and the fire pit, the kitchen was well appointed and the surrounding area was quiet. Even though it was hot out, the house is in a woodsy setting and stayed cool. The AC in both the upstairs and downstairs worked really well. I would stay here again, it was so relaxing.

This is our 2nd stay at the cabin. If you want a spot to truly "unplug" and simply enjoy the peace and quiet, this is the spot! Also, the night sky is absolutely stunning! Lots of sky to view and ideal to lay out under the stars! Suzi and Zeb are outstanding hosts and we will definitely be back again!

Great Stay Great Cabin! Everything was clean we felt comfortable there. The hot tub was great after the 2.4 mile walk at Watkins glen. It was too cold for us to kayak but it was nice sitting by the water and chilling. Loved the sound of the water at night.

We had a wonderful time during our visit. The cabin was secluded and private. Great location to hit wineries and breweries for us, we were within an hour or so of everything we wanted to do(we are used to a 20-30 minute drive on a daily basis for groceries). My favorite was the seating area on the dock overlooking the lake.

The cabin itself was peaceful and quiet. Definitely the place to go for a relaxing time! Sherry was also very easy to communicate with and so kind. We hope to be back!

The bed was very comfortable. The cabin is sweet and cozy with all that you need including fridge and coffeemaker and electric teapot. The shower was great too. We loved sitting on the front porch in the morning sipping our coffee and watching the sunrise. We also took advantage of the lakefront to go kayaking one morning. Thank you, Heidi and Kevin, for being good hosts.
