The Artist Cottage was a great secluded retreat. We loved how charming and cute the place looked. The colorful decor and charming antiques in the cottage made it feel special. The amenities were well taken-care of and we especially loved the hot tub, the outdoor fireplace, the spacious lodge, and the large, modern soaking tub. We enjoyed hanging out in backyard, where we could listen to numerous birds while sitting by a little waterfall in the morning. We appreciated the well-stocked kitchen. It was just a short walk from some nice hiking trails and we loved that it was only a short drive to town. Overall, we highly recommend this stay!

Perfect spot for a quiet weekend getaway! We were able to go to Yale art museums for the day and then came back to check out the beaches. Definitely recommend the trip to Dockside Seafood and Grill in Branford for lobster pasta! The hot tub was also the best way to end the day with a peaceful beautiful view!! Would definitely go back again!

Ellen's cottage was the perfect place for me to unwind and enjoy a peaceful vacation. The surrounding area was serene and the lake was such a bonus! The cottage had everything I needed and more and the bed was so comfortable which isn't always the case with airbnbs so I was thrilled. Ellen was always very sweet and responsive and all around a great host. 10/10 recommend this spot to anyone! Thanks for a great stay!

We loved our stay here. It was the perfect place for two of us and our dog. The home was just as described, welcoming, cosy and well equipped, and we appreciated all the local recommendations. We enjoyed local walks, the lake, and the great dog park, as well as easy access to Middletown to visit our son. Elisabeth and Daniel were fantastic hosts!

Wylda's cabin is just perfect—a cozy space right by the water, set on a quiet little street among the trees. I stayed here with a colleague for a work event, and the place was perfect. I highly suggest staying here! We were here during the spring, and the surrounding forest was beautiful; I imagine this place would be extra special during the winter. Wylda is a great host: excellent communication, and lots of suggestions. 10/10!

Cute and cozy home with lovely outdoor sitting area. Woke up to the sounds of the breeze and chirping birds! You can see the water from out the kitchen windows!

Jeanne's place was perfect for my trip to Guilford. Excellent location, close to the Green and to the water, quiet, peaceful. The house had everything I needed and more, Jeanne was super responsive and kind, and the bed was comfortable.

Jamie & Rose are the consummate hosts: clear communicators, friendly, helpful and supportive of their guests' (and their animals') experience. The cottage is New England cute on steroids, and super private. All was tip top, first rate for a country cottage experience. Thanks for making our experience so smooth and relaxing.

Great stay! Fergus was a great host - we drove from Boston with our dog and were attending a wedding the same day, so when I reached out to ask for earlier check in, Fergus didn’t hesitate and had the spot ready for us! They even were kind enough to drop off some bananas for us before the wedding. Check in was easy, an adorable, cozy cottage, and delicious muffins for us the next morning! Thank you!

Fun experience at an old school camp on a lake. Lovely screen porch overlooking the lake and Meredith has thoughtfully provided everything you need for a nice stay. Will be coming back soon!

Lovely cottage and a perfect location if you’ll be at Omega Institute which is 4 minutes away. Close to Rhinebeck Village too. Beautiful grounds and well appointed home. Extremely clean and well planned space. Comfortable bed, soft linens. Spacious kitchen made meal prep easy and when I asked about a blender the host was very responsive and a new blender was waiting for me on the porch. Really restful place with a private and calming back porch. Very serene property. I cooked dinner instead of going out on Saturday night because the space is so welcoming and relaxing, especially after a long day of classes at Omega. Comfortable sofa, wool throw, and Netflix. A perfect evening. Would love to stay again the next time I’m in the area.

Stayed at Adam and Nicole’s place for two nights while attending a festival nearby. Was a good size for myself, my daughter and a friend. The place itself is adorable and comfortable. Like staying in the three bears house in the woods with wifi, and gorgeous private wooded backyard and view to the lake across the road. The upstairs was a little stagnant upon arrival, but we opened the windows and put the fans on, which made it much better for sleeping at night. The house book and notes were very helpful. Kitchen and bathroom clean and well stocked! Loved it! Best of all, the hosts were accommodating and communicative. 🥰

Charming home, and Cath was especially helpful with late night dining accommodations.

We enjoyed our time at Vintage Bolton Lake Cottage. The place is cute, peaceful and quiet. Not having a TV was perfection! Kayaking was fun. Nice bass too! Top notch experience. Jason checked in to make sure we didn’t need anything or have any concerns mid stay, which I appreciate. Phenomenal host. Would love to go back!

Ina’s home, on 48 acres, is consistently highly rated, as it should be. It’s a perfect retreat for 2-3 people, secluded, but only a short drive to Litchfield. Ina kindly met us to give a 10 min tour of the property. Although not huge, the house is a congenial, inviting space, which was beautifully designed/built in the 50’s and sympathetically incorporates architectural components from a much earlier period. The setting, with several areas to sit out in, affords peace and spectacular sunsets. All said, this is a unique, magical space.

Had a wonderful weekend. The accommodations were comfortable, welcoming, and spotless. Exactly as described and pictured. Can’t recommend it highly enough.
