Our accommodation is located just off the Hikone Interchange on the Meishin Expressway (about 5 minutes by car), and is ideal as a base for sightseeing in Shiga and Biwako, as well as an intermediate accommodation during family and group trips (long-distance travel). There are many restaurants around Hikone Interchange, and there are also hot spring facilities and supermarkets, which are very convenient. Haruya Guesthouse

Our guesthouse is in a beautiful mountain village, near to it are pristine forests with beech trees and an ancient mountain path that was used to carry sea products from Japan sea to Kyoto in old days. In front of the guesthouse runs a stream that is a source of Lake Biwa and its water is crystal clear ; in early summer nights many fireflies fly over the stream. In winter, we have a lot of snow ; sometimes it reaches 2 meters from the ground! On clear nights you can enjoy the sky full of stars.

This place used to be one big guesthouse, but during Covid19, I have stopped running the guesthouse and I moved in with my wife and 2 kids. Still I didn't want to give up so I left the good parts.
