Holiday rentals with breakfast in Udawalawa

Sheran and his family were so friendly and accommodating. We had a delayed flight and so we didn’t arrive until 1:00am, but Sheran and his mother were there with smiles to great us and make sure we had what we needed. Since we arrived so late he was fine with us rescheduling our safari with him until the afternoon. His mother made a delicious breakfast for us at the time we asked. The beds were clean and comfortable. The only thing was that there were not two queens in a room together, but a king and a single. Since we had small children it worked out fine. It wasn’t fancy, but we enjoyed the feel of being in a Sri Lankan home.

A place where your soul can exhale! It’s not just a place to rest, meditate, practice yoga — it’s a space where you can just be. Everything here is simple, yet deeply nourishing. The surroundings are lush and alive, the air feels like a gentle embrace, and the rhythm of life invites you to slow down and return to what matters. What touched me the most was the genuine warmth and openness of Sam and everyone else around this place. There is no pretence here — just kindness, presence, and a deep sense of human connection and support. You are welcomed as you are, no masks needed. La chambre est propre ainsi que la salle. L'environnement est calme. Sheran est un hôte très sympathique prêt à répondre à toutes vos interrogations. De plus il organise lui-même la visite du parc. C'est un excellent guide qui donne beaucoup d'explications sur les animaux croisés dans le parc. Allez y les yeux fermés. Ses parents sont également très sympathiques et sa mère peut vous préparer des plats locaux excellents !

Good room with large bathroom & nice smelling towel. Our a/c leaked a little but our host was quick to fix it. We had traditional Sri Lankan dinner & breakfast there prepared by the host’s mother which was really delicious! We were even told to take along a comb of bananas as the host himself has a banana tree. Our stay was simply amazing, our friendly host arranged our safari trip and tuk tuk the next day upon check out. Great for spending a night here, you will love it. The hospitality given is warm and we enjoyed talking to the host. His private place is huge and he has 2 lovely dogs! Recommended!!

Nandanas home was one of, if not, the best ever airbnb stays I have ever experienced. From the off set, we were offered a cup of tea or coffee when we arrived that evening. We had a lovely Sri Lankan Curry and felt very welcomed, as if nothing was too much! Nandana organised and arranged our safari tour that evening, and we had the best day- early in the morning. The bedroom/ bathroom was clean and the family who ran the lodge were absolutely lovely. We finished our stay with a lovely sri lankan breakfast. It was a feast! Delicious and the best we've had during our sri lankan stay. a huge thank you to everyone at this lodge- you made our experience wonderful. We would 100% recommend or come back again in the future! Hands down the best place we have stayed in over our month we spent in Sri Lanka. Sadly, we stayed only one night but will gladly recommend this place for longer stays! The place is amazing, with quiet surroundings, immersed in jungle. Room is equipped with everything you need, and sparkling clean. The staff is very kind, attentive, and always helpful. The host himself cared for us very much, and is a true expert in running a hospitality business. Highly recommended!

We had a wonderful stay! Lasantha was really kind, always smiling, and made us feel completely at home. Everything was spotless, and the service was excellent. We especially appreciated the delicious home-cooked meals prepared by his wife, such a treat! The safari, driven by his brother, was also an amazing experience, with plenty of information about the wildlife and nature around us. Thank you for such a peaceful and welcoming stay. We truly felt cared for and will keep lovely memories of this place! 🙏🌿

Lovely brand new little cottage in a private area of Udawalawa. Very private location in the peaceful jungle. The property was easy to find and walking distance (or short tuktuk) to restaurants. Hasith was very friendly and helpful, he was able to arrange everything for us, including safari, spa, and a driver to another city. We would visit again!

Indika was the perfect host. The night before our arrival he called us to make sure we were all set. During our stay he went out of his way to drive us to the Sinharaja and back (a 3hr round trip) for a small fee, and waited for us whilst we completed our hike. The hotel is immaculately clean and surrounded by lush green mountains and the chef makes great food. We were most surprised on the morning of check-out, that Indika had arranged for our hiking boots to be cleaned and rid of dead leeches (from the hike the day before). It was certainly above and beyond all expectations.

We loved our stay at hornbill river camp. the location is beautiful and the host was super kind and helpful. the host cooked for us and it was so delicious :)

Lovely private lodge with access to a shared swimming pool - all very clean and tidy. The staff were friendly and accommodating and helped us to organise a safari tour. They even brought us bananas and biscuits to take on our early morning tour. The free breakfast is delicious too.

Très bon hébergement, accueil sympathique. Pour un safari il faut être prudent un éléphant avec sa trompe voudra explorer la caisse du 4x4 .il faudrait qu'il soit grillagé. Nous avons frôlés le drame
