A rustic home tucked in a charming town deep in the Himalayas. Pashmina, our host, made a series of delicious meals and graciously took us into her home for two lovely nights. We didn’t know we needed a permit and a guide to get into the national park, but Sachin helped us navigate those requirements and found us a guide, Yogesh with remarkable quickness. Yogesh proved a knowledgeable and friendly local guide. I want to stress how unique this stay was. This town is a couple hour jeep ride down a newly constructed road. We felt like we learned so much about this corner of our beautiful earth. Thanks to Airbnb for giving us the opportunity to visit here.

A truly magical stay! The location is unbeatable—nestled deep in nature with views that are simply out of this world. The sunset cottages are private, peaceful, and the perfect place to disconnect. Wi-Fi is available only in the common area, which honestly enhanced the experience for me—it was refreshing to unplug and just be. The hosts, especially Yudish, were amazing. His evening guitar sessions by the bonfire created such a cozy and memorable vibe. The resident pets—Casper, Julie, and Hachi—add so much charm to the place. The weather was perfect during our stay, and the view is something photos can’t capture—it has to be felt. The kitchen is accessible for self-cooking, and they also offer simple home-cooked meals. Do note that options are limited, but the food is wholesome. The team was kind and responsive—offering us a heater and kettle when it got chilly. Just ask for what you need, and they’ll gladly help. I am definitely coming back to my little slice of heaven.

My wife and I stayed for a night prior to our Har Ki Dun trek. It's a perfect homestay with a traditional family in the heart of Soud village. The room is adjacent to the rooms of other family members and is minimalistic. The view from the common balcony is soothing. The food which was garden fresh and simple was served with lots of love. A big thanks to Devender for all the help, information and assistance. He organized small treks (on payment) and we were escorted by chirpy little teenagers from their family who made it worthwhile. Clarify on the costs of food/trek beforehand in order to avoid surprises. The toilets are not attached with the rooms and theres a fly menace if you eat in the common balcony. All in all an simple yet exotic experience with a beautiful traditional joint family.

Our stay at laid back home stay Dehradun was very comfortable Mr Anant's property is very nice and beautiful..... Anyone who loves nature will love this place.... Room was spacious very neat and Mr Anant was very helpful..... Specially want to mention his garden... It's huge and well maintained and you can enjoy lots of beautiful flowers and in morning you can enjoy chirping of different birds..... In short our stay for three days from 10th Feb to 13th Feb is memorable one... Thanks 🙏 🙏

Staying with Ajay and his family was the best part of our Himachal trip! A lovely wooden cottage facing the mountains with the Baspa flowing below - the location was fantastic. Aunty and Uncle have built a beautiful house and Ajay works very, very hard to maintain it. The family is very warm and eager to help. The home made food is really a treat! Ajay is an exceptional cook. If you are looking for a peaceful tryst with nature, this is the place for you.

It was an unforgettable stay, the views, the experience and food everything was awesome. Thank you Yudhish and team for hosting us. We missed seeing a proper sunset though. We will come back definitely.

We recently had the most heartwarming and peaceful stay at Orang Utan Homestay in Gangnani, Uttarakhand, and I can’t recommend it enough. The hosts(Samrat Bhaiya) went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect sharing local stories, and even helping us discover hidden spots around the area. If you're looking for a soulful retreat, with genuine warmth, stunning scenery, and the kind of peace that stays with you long after you've left, Orang Utan Homestay is the place to be.

Do NOT miss out on this lovely little place. This place gives you all that it promises. It is located in a quaint little village, allowing you to be one with nature. At the same time, Anshul and the caretakers have not missed out on any of the modern facilities, and very easy to reach. I look forward to going back soon!

Orangutan is set in the heart of Bhangeli, a small village untouched by city noise. The air is cool, the valley stretches wide, and the snow-capped peaks stand clear in the distance. It’s the kind of place where time moves slower, and the silence feels restful. Samrat, the host, is thoughtful and welcoming. He prepared a wholesome and hearty dinner of organic rice, dal, and halwa, served in a cozy common room stocked with books and board games. Mornings here begin with hot tea or coffee, best enjoyed while taking in the quiet. A few baby goats and friendly pahadi dogs wandered around, making the setting even more idyllic. Breakfast was fresh and wholesome—a smoothie bowl that felt just right for the place. For those looking to explore, a seasoned trekking guide was available to share stories and lead the way through the forest trails above. Whether for rest or adventure, Orangutan is a place that stays with you.

I recently stayed with my family at this homestay in the hills of a small village, & it was an incredible experience. Despite some recent reviews, we decided to give it a try, and I'm so glad we did. The simplicity of everything, including the food made using organic veges was refreshing. The hosts practice minimalism & make use of available resources wisely, given the necessity to travel to another village for groceries. This is a true village life exp, so don't expect the convenience of citylife where everything is easily accessible. Instead, embrace simplicity & beauty surrounding you. For those used to staying in hotels, it's essential to understand the concept of a homestay. This is abt enjoying home-like atmosphere, connecting with the locals & experiencing their way of life. The host Samrat was extremely cooperative, empathetic making us feel like part of their family. His warmth and hospitality truly enhanced our stay.I highly recommend this place.

We spent 5 nights & Diwali in this charming place, exactly as described in the listing and worthy of every great review it has received. Aseem & Neetu Verma manage the place very professionally with much consideration to comfort, cleanliness & aesthetics. Their personal touches, care for detail and thoughtfulness touched us to the core. Their staff is extremely helpful and pleasant, rooms are very comfortable, view is great from the balcony & we were treated to delicious, large spread of food, prepared hygienically with fresh local produce, all served with love. Inclusion in their Diwali festivities & fireworks (without any additional charge) made us feel like family & shows their large heartedness and genuine love for people. This kath-kuni architectural gem in Rarta Village is the best location in Shimla district. Surrounded by nature's tranquility, it’s perfect for yoga, hiking, or simply lounging on the lush lawn under the open sky. I loved lying on the grass, ordering fresh juice, fruits, and homely food, just soaking in the peace. The cozy rooms, magical bonfire nights, and delicious food were incredible. The host is a true Superhost—warm, welcoming, and knowledgeable. She shared stories of kath-kuni architecture, Himachali culture, local traditions, and even her childhood memories. She also guided us with local tours and showed us stunning photos and videos of the homestay across seasons. The staff was incredibly helpful and responsive. If you’re planning to visit Shimla, stay here—nothing else can match this experience. Can’t wait to return! in love with this house

The place is fabulous, very tastefully done and extremely well maintained. Reaching the home is a bit tricky but timely communication with the caretaker and his clear instructions helped us find it accurately. Countryville has all amenities one would want and Jaspal bhaiya (caretaker) and others were extremely helpful and cooked us delicious food as per our requirements. Siddhartha (host) was kind enough to order us our choice of cake for my mother's birthday. There are board games and speakers for entertainment and plenty of spots to lounge around on the property. Also, one can indulge in a game of badminton in the lovely lawn part of the property. A short hike to the nearby waterfall was great fun, with valuable assistance rendered by Aman (caretaker's son). All in all a must visit place, was equally enjoyable for our dog as well. Highly recommended.

Seekers Home offers much more than just the stay. You will meet Prakhar Mishra ji there who will assist you during your stay. He goes above and beyond to make you comfortable. This place offers peace with all modern facilities. You can meditate, sleep under tree, play various outdoor games, visit nearby places, go for jungle trekking where views are breathtaking. Mishra ji is such a gem of a person and you will love the way he will indulge you with his talks on different topics with cup of tea. A must visit place for everyone.

Nestled in a peaceful surrounding away from the hustle and bustle of cities, the place seemed like a perfect weekend getaway. Squeaky clean rooms and a well-maintained property, along with the host being super-responsive and helpful. Would recommend this place for an overall experience.

A great calm and serene place. Away from hustle and bustle of city it is a perfect getaway to be with nature. The food was lovely and homely. The caretakers Manoj and Jai are always there to help and make you comfortable.
