Cottage holiday rentals in Vila Nova de Gaia

This house is in the most STUNNING location with AMAZING views. We arrived early hours and Tiago was more than helpful at this time. We were told of the house’s rich religious history which is reflected in the artwork and decor of the house. 7 of us stayed for 8 days 2 couples and 3 teens More than enough space for everyone to have their own privacy and more than enough room for 10 people. The grounds had fig, Apple and lemon trees which we were told we are more than welcome to use. Aldi and Lidl were a 15 minute drive (we rented a car) which was perfect for evening barbecues (huge wood oven outside as well as small grills) The pool was stunning, we spent most days in there from morning till night. It’s a great size and easy to shade with umbrellas if needed. We left our inflatables there for the next person, which someone had also done before we arrived, which was a nice touch. We can’t thank Tiago enough for an amazing 8days. Will defo visit again

Die Unterkunft ist einfach grandios. Es ist mitten in der Natur, sehr ruhig und sehr naturnahe. Man hört die Vögel, das Wasser. Es ist einfach ein magischer Ort und perfekt um bei sich anzukommen oder die Ruhe zu genießen. Ich habe es geliebt am Wasser zu meditieren oder Yoga zu machen. Ich würde jederzeit wieder kommen. Vielen Dank für die schönen Tage.

Tivemos dias incríveis na Villa Margaridi. O espaço é lindo, com total privacidade e tudo o que é necessário, seja para tirar uns dias a relaxar ou mesmo para conhecer a cidade. Destaque também para o Vinho do Porto servido à tarde e ao pão fresco deixado à porta todas as manhãs. Com certeza uma experiência a se repetir!

Tiago did more than expected. From welcoming cake, unexpected wine tour and requests answered immediately. When we panicked about the fires, he calmed us. This Airbnb is a haven of tranquility. Fresh fruit from trees!!! Vale da Cambra unspeakable beauty and hospitality. Not a lot of English speaking, but at the end we got what we wanted.

Todo perfecto. La casa como en las fotos, atentos a nuestra llegada, el desayuno delicioso. Una zona que vale la pena conocer. 100% recomendable

Spent 3 nights here and had a beautiful time. Hot tub was a nice touch for the cold winter days. Carlos was extremely sweet and hospitable. Gave us plenty of information about Sever de Vouga and showed us how to get around. Breakfast was served to us everyday at 9am which was a super nice touch. Great way to start the day. Definitely recommend. I'll be going back for sure!

We hebben een heerlijk verblijf gehad in Villa Margaridi! Top-verblijf, uitstekende host en personeel. Aanrader voor mensen die een rustige, mooie en luxe plek zoeken in Noord-Portugal

Temos um AL e a casa da Margarida foi uma sugestão de uma hóspede nossa. A estadia valeu cada segundo. A casa é excelente, muito fresca, a piscina maravilhosa e com pormenores de muito bom gosto. Nota-se que a Margarida tem muito amor pelo que faz e não nos deixa faltar nada. É uma pessoa super empreendedora e, como sempre, aprendemos coisas que iremos aplicar no nosso AL. Para terminar em beleza fomos ver ao vivo como é feita a apanha dos mirtilos nas plantações junto à casa.

La estancia fue increíble, patricia estaba todo el rato pendiente y contestaba al momento casi. En cuanto a la casita fue muy bonita a parte de que tenia estufas en las que no pasabas frio ninguno cosa que se agradecía que hacia frio y mal tiempo. Tenia todo lo que se necesitaba y estaba todo muy limpio. Fuimos con dos perritos y tenían donde poder correr en el jardín. Sin duda repetiremos

Casa muito agradável, com muito bom gosto! Agradecemos a gentiliza dos pequenos pormenores como o bolinho à nossa chegada, os aperitivos, chás, café... tudo estava perfeito!

Die Unterkunft war wie auf den Fotos beschrieben und André hat uns sehr zuvorkommend und überaus freundlich empfangen. In der Küche stand frisches Obst und Eier bereit. Wir haben auch den wunderschönen Pool sehr genossen und uns auf den Liegen entspannt. André hat uns gute Tipps für Restaurants in der Gegend gegeben und war auch immer sehr hilfsbereit. Es ist ein sehr guter Ausgangspunkt, um die Gegend zu erkunden. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und würden auf jeden Fall wieder diese Unterkunft wählen. Vielen Dank für die tolle Gastfreundschaft.

A única adversidade esteve relacionada com o check-in. O Sr. Lobo, anfitrião, não esteve presente. Tirando essa contrariedade tudo estava perfeito. A casa está num local privado o que lhe garante um ambiente calmo e tranquilo. Estava limpa e encontra-se bem apetrechada. É perfeita para umas férias em família.

We received a very warm welcome from Bartolo. Interesting, old apartment, part of a much larger farmhouse building. Antique furnishings and high ceilings give this Airbnb a very quaint feel, like going back in time. Plenty of blankets and hot water bottles for the unseasonable chilly nights on our arrival. We loved the ambience, the creative renovations which were being carried out whilst we were there, didn’t hinder our stay in any way. Beautiful views, animals in the grounds, wonderful kind people, made our trip very special. We took the train into glorious old Porto from Mindelo, leaving our hire car nearby. Do walk along the boardwalk in the nature reserve on the coast nearby. Characterful old villages and towns nearby for coffees and meals out. The Romantico drive along the Douro is a must, choose a dry day for the glorious views. We toured the old city and loved both sides of the river. Lots of musicians play there, it was a pleasure to lunch, listen and relax.

This is a unique place. Nothing compares with it. A small village of picturesque buildings - nevertheless, you do not have to miss anything of modern convenience - with the most beautiful and stunning nature. Amazing and must visit.

Passamos dias incríveis na casa do Avô. Fomos recebidos pela Ana, que nos aguardou com um café quentinho, a lareira aquecendo a sala, e nos contou a história da casa o que deixa a experiência ainda mais completa. Camas confortáveis, roupas de cama e banho de qualidade, tudo muito limpo e organizado e cozinha muito bem equipada. Todos os cômodos foram muito bem pensados tanto para viver momentos em conjunto, quanto a privacidade dos quartos, que são isolados da área comum. A vista é de tirar o fôlego e o pôr do sol emoldurado pelas janelas, parece mais uma tela na decoração da sala. Já prevemos um retorno no Verão para aproveitar a piscina. Super rocomendo viver essa experiência.

Uma semana inesquecível, sem duvida um local a voltar pois sem duvida que nos fez sentir em casa, a destacar a simpatia e boas vindas calorosas por parte dos pais da sara e da dona Margarida, um local excecional para quem quer passar um momento relaxante em família e de descanso, casa muito completa, sem nada apontar, limpeza sem qualquer pormenor apontar, bem situada e privada. Salientar a boa comunicação com a Dona Sara que sempre respondeu rapidamente a qualquer questão da nossa parte. Obrigado por tudo.

Silvia est une personne d'une gentillesse incroyable et sincère, un sens de l'accueil plus que parfait. Des petits pains frais apportés tous les matins, des delicieux gâteaux, des bons conseils pour visiter, un sourire plein de douceur que dire de plus... Nous nous sommes sentis très bien dans la maison qu'elle a décorée avec goût. Tellement agréable de profiter de la terrasse et du jardin, une jolie balade en forêt à proximité et surtout le magnifique monastère de Tibaes ! Nous y reviendrons avec plaisir 😊

Wonderful stay here for 5 days. Helena was quick and responsive throughout. When I arrived, I met Paula, Sofia, Martinho and Francisco who welcomed and showed me the house and area. So generous to offer me a bottle of wine, water, biscuits on my arrival. The house is cozy and peaceful with a view of the farm where the sheep roam during the day. Comfortable bed, linen and beautiful antique decor to keep with the theme. Kitchen has a small fridge, kettle, microwave and stove. Beautiful spaces to walk and rest under fruit trees, 2 swimming pools in a peaceful natural setting. Even my cat, Samson enjoyed it. For company, we also had a cute friendly dog, Nina. It is a short drive to centre of Fafe, a lovely town with charming architecture. Helena provided useful recommendations on what to do and where to go. Guimaraes is a beautiful place, only 20 minutes from the house. All in all, a great stay and I'm happy to revisit one day again. Thanks for a great stay!

Sara’s place was fantastic for a week-long reunion with some friends. It had everything our group needed for the week, and we particularly enjoyed the private pool and sunset views from the deck. The location was great, being right on the river and a 5-10min drive from hiking trails, kayak rentals, great restaurants and local wine tastings. Sara was also very proactive, providing us with local recommendations and clear instructions on how to get there, and being quick to answer any questions we had during the stay. Couldn’t recommend Sara’s place more for anyone looking to spend a weekend or week in the area.

I loved this Airbnb. It honestly felt more like a home than most Airbnb’s and this is quite a compliment. I have stayed in so many of these that I have learned the difference. It was well appointed so you could easily have meals at home. There is a barbecue and numerous charming outside seating areas. The property is beautifully landscaped and private. Ligia had an app that answered every possible question we had about her place and the area from where to have dinner to what sites should we visit. It had grocery stores, hikes nearby, places to visit. I’ve honestly never seen anything like it. The property is quiet, the beds comfy and towels soft. It’s very well located for visits to Guimares and Peneda Gerês. The territorial views from the property were beautiful. Icing on the cake for us our the two dogs that visit.. They were the sweetest and enhanced our visit. One of the top places I have ever stayed.

Truly wonderful! Alexandra was so welcoming and friendly and went above and beyond with generous hospitality – greeted us on arrival, gave us a tour of the property, lightly checked in on us by message throughout the week, responded quickly to any questions and requests for recommendations (restaurants, places to visit), and came to wish us farewell at the end of our stay – all the while ensuring our privacy and space. The grounds were magical and thoughtfully decorated with so many little zones to explore. Like like we were discovering a mini-paradise… we loved the pool and made sure to swim every day, but also the shaded swing overlooking the garden, the ‘fairy tree’ all lit up at night, the rockery glowing in the afternoon light with dragonflies fluttering about, the BBQ overlooking the pool and garden, the little birds hopping on the grass, and of course all the beautiful hydrangeas! The house itself was spacious clean, and fully equipped with everything we could possibly need!

Séjour parfait. Communication excellente. Logement très mignon et le jardin est magnifique, très agréable ! La maison respecte les photos, tout était en phase avec l’annonce. Le seul bémol reste l’isolation un peu légère et les chiens environnants qui aboient à longueur de temps (jour et nuit). En voiture nous rejoignions porto centre en 20 minutes ! Un grand Leclerc à 2 minutes de la maison.
