Hockey Hut

Hockey Hut is a cosy, clean, self contained and comfortable hut it has everything you need for a cosy stay. We offer a variety of cereals, breads, tea and coffee for breakfast. Franz Josef township is a 10 minute walk away or a 2 minute drive. Relax and enjoy the beautiful native surroundings. We are at the far end of Cron street, straight past the hot pools, then past the medical centre until you see our red Maori Pau (red carving) then turn right up our drive. We are 116 Cron street.

The Tower, Okarito

The Tower is a comfortable two storey, seperate building with an upstairs bedroom with ensuite bathroom. It has excellent views of the sea and the Southern Alps. A warm, cosy and quiet space with a private garden. Free Wifi (system fully upgraded August 2021) Downstairs is the living room / kitchenette area. Upstairs and downstairs are connected by external stairs (see photos). Awesome outdoor bath - great for stargazing (new Aug 22). There are balconies on three sides of the tower.

A quaint little place with so much charm! The space had plenty of amenities — the kitchen was well-equipped, and we were able to cook our own dinner comfortably. The host was very friendly and welcoming. We especially loved stargazing at night, managed to capture some beautiful photos! The bathroom and bed were both clean and comfortable. Overall, we had a very relaxing and peaceful stay. Would definitely recommend.

Such a cool little cottage! Like being able to stay in a museum where I was with lots of things I remembered from my childhood. A very memorable stay, with a great warm fire on a chilly June night. Kath was really great and hospitable. We saw her other accommodation out back too, which looks amazing would love to come back again in the warmer months and stay there! Thanks Kath!

We had an incredible stay at the Lake House! Jody and Barney have done an amazing job including extra special touches that make this stay remarkable in a truly beautiful part of the world. Jody was great for local suggestions and helped organise a birthday cake for my husband prior to our arrival. Unfortunately the guests before us were inconsiderate of the off-grid setup and did not adhere to the house rules and we arrived with no power or running water. Jody went out of her way to correct this, supplying additional amenities, a meal voucher and crediting us some of the night fee while a generator helped to restore power overnight. Thank you for sharing this beautiful space! We hope to be back one day.

We had a warm and cozy stay here, especially appreciated on a rainy and cold night. The place was peaceful, very clean, in a good location, and had everything we needed for a comfortable visit. No complaints at all - overall a decent and pleasant stay. Would happily return.

I would 1000% stay here again. LOVED IT, the place is beautiful and the views are outstanding. I go the pleasure to meet Judy and her kids, super nice peeps. I didn't want to leave this place but I had to continue on my adventure. I highly recommend if you are a solo traveler or with a partner to stay in this beautiful place. Thanks Judith, I'll def recommend to my friends and fam!
