Cottage holiday rentals in Walker County

I loved this property on the top of Lookout Mtn, GA. The property has just been taken over by new owners in the last 6 months. About 10 cottages all newly renovated. They are clean, fresh and well appointed, including robes and nice thick towels. You park you car right next to the cottage, very convenient. The host Jamie and the staff all super friendly. Breakfast is included with the stay. Served at the Inn every morning at 830. The inn, is quaint with flowers on the table. Coffee, teas, juice. Real china , silverware and cloth napkins. Fruit, bacon, eggs, pastries, grits are self serve. First morning they brought bread pudding to the table the next morning avacado toast. You can take long walks through the local neigborhoods. Ruby Falls, Rock City and the Incline Railway and numerous hiking trails, all super close and Chattanoga is 20 minutes away. Very nice place. Great for groups. Small pool to splash in and hot tub. Highly recommended for a relaxed stay.

The perfect place to celebrate our 21st wedding anniversary! This place was exactly as described. Clean, beautiful, quiet. So relaxing! We had everything we needed for a quiet weekend in. The attention to detail really shows the love and care put into this place. Even checking in on us when we had some bad weather to make sure we had power and to know where the emergency flashlights and lanterns were stored. Highly recommend this place!

I love staying at the cabin. I would love to go back next year.

Wonderful quiet retreat from the hustle and bustle of the real world. Enjoyed spending time as a family (dogs included). Great responsive hospitality.

Our family really enjoyed our time here. It was our first cabin experience and the kids loved it! The staff were incredibly kind and the home cooked breakfast, prepared by Jamie, was phenomenal. We enjoyed the quietness and listening to the wind cut through the trees while lounging outside. We are a family of 7 (4 young kids and 1 infant) and the sleeping space was adequate. Everyone raved about how comfortable the beds are. The location was just minutes away from Ruby Falls which was our destination and why we rested in this area. So glad we came across Timberroot and will look out for their other properties for future rustic travel plans.

I can’t say enough about how wonderful our stay here was. The cabin was quaint and homey. The cabin was tastefully decorated. After arriving we were so taken with the place, the location and the great breakfast served we tried to stay another night but it was already booked. I highly recommend the Lookout Mountain Inn! The setting is so picturesque, serene and peaceful; and the added personal touch of Ruthie’s welcoming chocolate chip cookies was very special! The residence is located within a short drive to the many scenic waterfall hiking trails that my wife and I enjoy!

David’s place is a wonderful home away come. They have thought of everything and then some! And talk about a perfect getaway for nature lovers! We were there just after a big rain so the waterfall was really flowing! The trees were in bloom and absolutely beautiful with next to the creek! Couldn’t have been more impressed with the location! Be prepared for a little hike to get to the creek but all in all, it’s awesome 🤩

Comfortable, peaceful and cozy, this home is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Emmy was wonderful; proactive and very quick to respond to my request for accommodation on a short timeline. She rallied her crew and had everything ready in short order. I will definitely visit again and plan on staying longer! Also, be sure and look at the other listings Emmye and Seth host.

My family was so fortunate to have found Star Cottage. It was perfect for us and felt just like home. It was close enough to many fun things, but not too close to feel crowded or make me nervous with three young children. If we ever make it back to Chattanooga, we know exactly where to stay!

We had the best time at the Old Town Cottage. It was the perfect, cozy space for our anniversary trip in a peaceful, quiet neighborhood. The cottage itself was exceptionally clean with a full kitchen (we were NOT in the mood for cooking ourselves, but it's got anything you could ask for if you're up for homecooking). There are several great, local restaurants and shops in easy walking distance, and Chatanooga is just a quick drive down the mountain for anything you could want. The best part was the beautiful hiking trails just down the road! Several trail heads are about a half mile away. Highly recommend the easy trail down to Rainbow Lake Dam, and the trail down to Rainbow Falls is well worth it if you're feeling a bit more adventurous.

We absolutely loved staying here. The peacefulness and easy access to everything Mentone was great. Really enjoyed the back deck and seeing all the birds that visited the backyard… and the swing by the river was great too!

Awesome place with tons of great outdoor activities. Nice community with good public spaces. Comfy beds, great ac, easy access to amenities. Pup shed was a great additional space. Host very prompt to communicate as well. Would definitely stay again!

We chose this place because we love Mentone, DeSoto St Park, just the whole area and I was looking for enough room for 6 of us and our dog. Our doodle vacations with us and this house was perfect with a large front yard on a quiet street. It was a meet in the middle place for our group. We like to cook, play games, puzzle, hike while we are here and Misti's place had great spaces especially for games and puzzles and was so cozy with the propane heaters and fireplace. Our power went out during the night in a storm but we were able to stay until it was restored because of the light from all the windows and we were plenty warm with the fireplace. We made use of the generous gift for breakfast for 2 at Hatter's in Mentone. Reservations are recommended for the best experience and we really had a nice time. It is a wonderfully unique place and the food was great. I loved that this was not the cookie cutter cabin but a beautiful cottage with attention to detail. We would happily return.

Denises' place was a little piece of Heaven. To start Denise was highly responsive and a clear communicator. I was traveling with my 83 yr old mother whom can't maneuver many steps so, I needed to find a place that was easily accessible. This was certainly it! No steps, beautifully appointed, clean shower, and bathrooms on main. The beds and linens were as soft and as comfortable as my own at home. The home is nestled at the bottom of the mountain right up against the bedrock. They have actually built the decking around the bedrock which was a wonderful little feature that showed such creativity. The kitchen was Very Well appointed and very clean. Denise had left homemade Molasses cookies in the freezer for us to heat up. This was a big hit with Mom and her friends who came to visit her! :) The neighborhood was quiet, peaceful and definitely higher end. The entire home was decorated quite tastefully with clearly much thought behind it. We will definitely be back to this lovely

One of the absolute best places I’ve ever stayed! Everything was clean, well thought out, easy to access and the neighborhood was awesome! A great view of the mountain! In the mornings a beautiful, orange Tabby cat would join me for coffee on the porch.

Wonderful place to stay for a night or weekend away. We really enjoyed our stay. The place was as advertised. The host was responsive and communication was clear. 5 stars!

Great weekend stay in this tiny house. Beautiful surroundings (woods without other dwellings in sight from porch). Owner was quick to respond and home was well put together for what it was. Would happily come back anytime of year.

We were upgraded to the upstairs of the Cove house. The experience spoiled my family and we had a wonderful time.

Jamie, the innkeeper is a rockstar! She went way beyond what was expected, recommending places to eat and things to do. She even hooked us up with a local realtor as we were investigating moving to the area. She even provided a ramp to the breakfast area for our elderly mother with mobility issues. Oh, the breakfasts are amazing! This ain’t your typical hotel breakfast bar! Our pups did well in this pet-friendly environment. The facilities have been there a long time but have been thoroughly updated and are very comfortable. Big thumbs-up! We’d definitely stay there again!

Derek was a great host!!! He was very accommodating and helpful! This was our first trip with our new baby who’s 8 months old along with our 4 other daughters, and I couldn’t have asked for anything better!! This home was beautiful, spacious, accommodating, and more! Our little girls loved the swing outside and the beautiful room up stairs. It was like a dream come true for a princess ❤️ The bathroom also became my own little oasis with the bath salts, face mask, candle, shower head and warming tile! We will definitely stay with Derek again if we ever come back to Chattanooga!
