Really fantastic little place in a stunning part of Scotland. The hosts were fantastic and very helpful despite our fleeting visit.

Absolutely beautiful place to stay. Mark the host gave us super easy and clear instructions to get to, and get in the caravan which made things super easy. The caravan is absolutely stunning, so clean inside with absolutely everything you need, from plates, cleaning products, even a slow cooker and dishwasher. Everything was left for our one year old including a cot and blankets, and they even had bubbles, loads of games and books for all ages. The WiFi worked really well and honestly we couldn’t fault it. The site was lovely, although there wasn’t loads to do for the kids, they made use of the golf, football pitches and pool. The entertainment was decent and we even won £500 at bingo! Thanks for a lovely stay!

We had an amazing stay! The cottage was just as described and in the perfect location so we hardly had to use the car at all and were able to walk to Windermere, Bowness and Brockhole with our two girls ( 13 and 8). The use of the nearby pool was an added bonus after a day in the mountains. We’ll definitely be back! 😀

This place was beyond our expectations. Immaculately presented, super clean, tidy, jaw dropping views. I can't fault it in any way and I can't rate it highly enough. Will definately look to return in the future. Stunning!

We have just returned from a lovely weekend at Badgers Rest. The home was beautifully clean, had everything we needed and in a great location. The facilities were amazing nearby too.

House was as described, beautiful setting with wonderful views of the hills and mountains. Rooms are spacious with comfy beds and bathrooms are nicely finished with good showers. Kitchen is a good size and has all required implements. A great location for exploring the central lakes and soaking up all that Ambleside has to offer.

Amazing stay ! House is very welcoming , extremely well equipt , cosy but also spacious and immaculately clean . Views from the sun room just stopped me in my tracks … breath taking ! - 20 mins or so and we were at Whitehaven where you can walk to st bees beach - 30 minute drives to both blencathra and skiddaw , which we were happy to tick off ☑️… our first visit to the lakes made even better with this lovely home to come back to after a day in the fells ❤️

Can’t thank Janice enough for our home from home experience to explore the Lake District. It was exactly as it was in the pictures and more. Janice left milk, bread, butter, jams, orange juice, beers and wine and much more. It was exactly as described! We had a wonderful stay at Isabel's Cottage. Everything was exactly as shown in the photos and described on Airbnb. Lisa was an incredible, friendly, responsive host, going above and beyond with extra special touches. We had brought everything with us for our furry friend but really didnt need too. Lisa provided everything for all the family members including the fur kind. We slept so deeply in the extremely comfortable beds especially with the surroundings being so peaceful. We will definitely be recommending Isabel's Cottage to anyone, and hope to return when next visiting the area. Thank you Lisa

They are amazing, thoughtful and kind. The house was very clean with all the required amenities. They even kept a baby cot for our baby !!! Billy is always there to support throughout our stay. The Croft is an idyllic place to stay, right on the bank of the river Cocker and central to the town itself. The property is lovely and the hosts are friendly and helpful. This was our second visit, and I hope, not our last

Nice place, clean and nice view. Sufficient amenities and have a good and convenient car park. Linda always has prompt response and helpful. Flexible check in and visible instruction on getting WiFi and also got a lot of information of local place to visit. We all have a great time in staying there.

A fabulous location from which to explore the Lake District. The place was super clean, comfortable, great amenities provided and very easy instructions to follow. Loved the outdoor area at the back for early mornings or late evenings. Sleeping in the front bedroom there was some traffic noise from the fairly busy road. Blackout curtains was also be a welcome addition for the summer months and the loooong daylight hours.

Our stay at this charming Victorian townhouse in Cockermouth was truly exceptional. From the moment we stepped inside, we felt completely at home—the cozy yet spacious rooms, tasteful rustic decor, and thoughtful details made our visit delightful. The kitchen was fantastic, fully equipped and perfect for cooking meals together, especially with the impressive Rangemaster cooker. We loved relaxing by the log-burning stoves, which added a warm and comforting atmosphere to our evenings. The attic room was particularly lovely, offering not just comfort but also practical amenities like a workstation and a walking pad—perfect if you need to catch up on some work without missing out on relaxation. Communication with the host was seamless, and the thoughtful touches throughout reflected genuine care and personality, setting this apart from typical stays. This home truly captures the spirit of the Lake District and was the ideal base for our adventures. We highly recommend this home!

A beautiful house in a lovely setting, great for family get togethers, location right on the lake was amazing, & easy access to lovely local town of Glenridding for essentials. Wide range of facilities at the cottage, we really enjoyed the private outdoor eating area next with the wood fired outdoor grill. Very nice well appointed kitchen with quality appliances, bathrooms clean and with quality fittings. Outside garden/woodland area was perfect for us and our dog, although the many steps and steep paths would not suit everyone, but this factor is clearly explained in the information host provides. We found some rooms a little dark, especially on a rainy day but there are some lovely lamps which can be moved around if required. Overall I would recommend this cottage as a great place to stay & enjoy the lake district and all it has to offer.
