Cob Cottage

Channel the pursuit of pause in this one-of-a-kind earth house. The cozy retreat was hand-sculpted using local and sustainable natural materials, and features a central living space with cantilevered slab stairs leading to the loft bedroom. Guests have access to the entire cottage and surrounding property. We live in the neighbouring house, and are happy to give advice or answer questions to help you make the most of your stay. The neighborhood is quite rural and mostly agricultural with several farms and a small private vineyard. The home is a 10 minute walk from the beach and a 20 minute walk from a family grocery and deli specializing in local organic produce. Mayne Island has a small community bus. Times and routes are limited, particularly in the winter. It will stop at the driveway. We also have an official hitch hiking system with signed Car Stops where you can wait for a ride. Usually you don't have to wait long. We are happy to offer pickup and drop off at the ferry dock as a courtesy to encourage car-free travellers, on days when the community bus is not running. Please let us know ahead of time that you'll be coming without your own transportation, and we will make sure that either we or the community bus (which will drop you off at our driveway) are there to meet you when your ferry arrives. The BC Ferries terminals near Victoria and Vancouver are easily reachable via public transit from their respective airports and downtowns.

Dragonfly guest suite

This is cosy and comfortable suite, now with a QUEEN size bed, for one person, or a couple, as it is very compact. It is in Saanich East, close to Camosun College, UVIC , and St Michaels University School, within walking distance to the Hillside Mall, and close to Mt Tolmie, and on the #14 bus route- direct to UVIC or downtown. Jennifer's house is in a beautiful neighbourhood and her garden looks superb. The bedroom and bathroom were spotless. Her and her husband were excellent hosts. Jennifer was so kind in letting me use her mobile phone when I needed to change my travel plans. I thoroughly recommend this accommodation.

I had a lovely two night stay here. The neighbourhood was convenient (not far from downtown, beaches in Oak Bay etc.). I didn't have to share a bathroom with anyone and I generally had the upper floor of the unit to myself. Aleigh was responsive and easy to communicate with. Would stay there again!

I was in Victoria for 4 nights for my son's convocation. This was a great location, a few steps from the ocean as well as some nice shops. The home was quiet. Stocked with everything you want in an airbnb without stove/oven. The home felt very welcoming and cozy. It was nice to have charging cables at the bedside. the roof is low, so if you're tall, you may have to duck! The couch was comfy and it was nice to have a throw blanket to cuddle up with. The kitchen table expanded to give me a bit more room.

Couldn’t have asked for a cozier stay during for a conference trip! Everything was well thought out - grateful for the collection of tea. Short drive yo UVic and lots of shops/restaurants in the area. Highly recommend staying at Fiona’s!
