Very good hosts. Nice spot on the river, I only wish our work project would have been a month later so we could have enjoyed the full potential. The house was well provisioned with everything we needed. Nice vibes in the sun room overlooking the river (even if it was spent doing reports after a long day).

This house was incredible. Open concept first floor to gather for making dinner and eating around the table. Incredible views of the Mad River Valley, a hot tub, and room downstairs to hang out. Highly recommend for a weekend of skiing.

It is very rare that a home is even better in person than on the photos! Very spacious, gracious, beautiful, so well maintained, even had one more sleeping space and bathroom than in the description - in the basement. Stunning lakeside location, beautiful patio and grounds - which we unfortunately couldn’t experience as much because of rainy weather. Jordan was super responsive, very helpful and kind. If we are back we will look to stay here again would highly recommend her home to anyone. A real find on Airbnb! Thank you, Jordan!

Great stay, we all enjoyed ourselves. We did get some weather from the hurricane on our last night and temporary power outage, allowing for that last chance to truly disconnect. Screened porch was a great spot to relax. Enjoyed the waterfront and rented a boat, well worth it. The house was as described, no surprises and very clean. When I reached out to Guy with a question or two he responded immediately. We had a great time!

We stayed at Kate‘s place for college graduation at Middlebury. It was the perfect hideaway for our family to relax when not attending events at the college. I absolutely loved the beautiful wide plank, wood floors. Stunning! The decor is perfect for a lake house and you get complete solitude as the house sits back from the street. Would stay again.

We spent a glorious weekend here with our 11 person extended family, celebrating my in-laws 50th wedding anniversary. It was the perfect place for three generations, ages 6 to 75. The kids commandeered the basement and really loved the bunkbed accommodations and all the games. It kept them busy and happy throughout a rainy weekend. The hot tub is like the size of a small pool and fit our whole family. The kids had a blast swimming, as did everyone else. The other draw of this place for us was the very large dining table, which accommodated all of us easily. The kitchen is far and away one of the best Airbnb kitchens I’ve ever used - gloriously well stocked with equipment and easy for a bunch of cooks to prepare meals for a big group. We loved it and hope to come back. Thank you for the hospitality!

Lovely home and would 100% visit again. The porch sitting over Lake Champlain is one of a kind - we saw many of the surrounding properties from the water during our time in Essex and I don’t think there’s another porch in town with that type of water view - can’t beat it! We spent 10 days in late August with our 3 yr old daughter and some grandparents in/out over the course of the visit. The home was perfect for our getaway. The hosts, Lisa and John were flexible and welcoming. The space had everything we needed for our stay - kitchen was great and we cooked many meals at home. The open kitchen/dining/living floor plan is perfect for spending time together and so cozy… all alongside an unbeatable view.

The location was remote but still easy to find and not far from the main road. Peaceful and private with the best view I have ever had at a rental in Vermont (which is saying a lot given how beautiful the state is) The house was well stocked and clean. Jeannie was very accommodating but not overbearing at all. Would absolutely return.

Great place to get away with beautiful views. Exactly what we were looking for

This beautiful rustic little cottage was everything we hoped it would be. Clean, comfortable, well stocked, and lots of interesting old decor and books. We spent a good 30 minutes the first night just looking at all the old photos and memorabilia. The chairs, couch, and bed are all incredibly comfortable, and the large screened in porch is perfect for when you want to enjoy dinner outside without all the mosquitoes. Of course, we didn't spend many daylight hours in the cottage - instead we made use of the kayaks and private dock, and hiking on the nearby trails. It was fun seeing the dock from Rattlesnake Point! Don and Gary were great hosts - responsive, friendly, great local recommendations. We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful spot to spend our anniversary, and we hope to be back again and again!

My partner and I had a fantastic stay at the Book House. It’s a funky, clean, quiet, and cozy (very!) little cottage. We loved having morning coffee on the porch with a gorgeous view of the lake, kayaking with Canadian geese, being surrounded by books and warming our feet by the gas stove, exploring the beautiful countryside, and hiking up Snake Mountain. And we really enjoyed our host, Laurel, who stays next door. She was super friendly, easy to communicate with, and was available if we needed her but also gave us plenty of privacy. The Book House is about a 15-20 mins drive to Middlebury (also great to explore), so you’ll want to stock up on provisions. However, nearby Pratt’s Country Store has all the basics you need and once you’re settled in you may not want to leave - we didn’t! Thanks again Laurel for sharing your special place.

We stayed for my daughter’s Midd graduation. It’s less than a 20 minute drive to Middlebury. Ardie and Mike are such lovely, hard working, kind and receptive human beings. I loved meeting them. They were so welcoming and accommodating, down to earth people. I would stay here again in a heartbeat - in any one of the cabins.

We had friends come to stay and we all had a nice time out on the water and at the campfire. It’s a really nice secluded little spot on the lake and the kids enjoyed all the toys.

We had a truly wonderful time staying at Jeff’s place and are so glad to have found this gem of a home! From the start of our trip till the end, Jeff was a very warm, welcoming and communicative host. The home is in a truly picturesque location. Very peaceful, but also really close to Middlebury, Brandon and amenities. The home is very comfortable, and was pristine when we arrived. 6 of us (including two kids) stayed comfortably. The kitchen is well stocked and we enjoyed quality time over meals at home, and also had plenty to do outside. All in all, this was truly a break for us! We’d be glad to be back again! The very scenic Lake Dunmore was the big draw and it didn't disappoint us. Huge, quiet, sublime spot. What a beautiful place. This small house is a few steps from the lake. The lake was a little slice of paradise for open water swimming. There were also kayaks available. The house has been renovated in every corner and feels somehow lived in, well loved, and also brand spanking new. New appliances, new bathrooms, mattresses and sheets and kitchen stuff all in perfect shape.

The house is exactly across the street from Lake Dunmore, and has a private deck and access for canoe and kayaks. What a beautiful place!

Great place! This home is cozy and very nice in a lovely setting. The gazebo and deck are fantastic, and the hot tub was a hit. Great amenities! The home itself was clean, spacious, and comfortable. Gabriel had great communication and was very accommodating to our family. The basement made for the perfect retreat for the kiddos, complete with a train table. Excellent stay and hospitality all around! Thank you!

This is a place that we are fortunate to go to each year. Our entire family loves the cabin and peaceful lake. I think this is our 7th year. If you’re looking for tranquil, this is the perfect place. I’m so grateful Sharon makes this home available for people to enjoy. We will continue to make sure we fit in a time each year to take advantage of the opportunity to stay and truly rest, we truly enjoy her place ! Thank you
