Alps Mountains. Italy. Aosta Valley. A cabin in a small village at 1600 meters,in the peace of meadows, grazing cows and mountains. Snow (usually) in the winter. A place of the heart, lovingly restored preserving the ancient beams of the roof. A wonderful view from the large windows and a special tranquility for those in search of peace, warmth and relaxation. The furniture is very nice: wood above all, but also more lively colors, and modern comforts. Quiet excursions, both on snowshoes or ski.

La vista sui 4000 svizzeri è mozzafiato! Durante la stagione invernale, in caso di nevicate, bisognerà parcheggiare a circa 500 mt dallo chalet, vi aiuteremo volentieri con i vostri bagagli!

Ein wunderschöner, idyllischer Ort inmitten der Berge – perfekt zum Abschalten. Die Wohnung war sauber, ordentlich und es gibt einen Holzofen. Holz war immer ausreichend vorhanden. Die Terrasse mit Blick ins Tal und auf die umliegenden Berge war ein Traum! Dank der Markise hatte man auch bei Sonne ein schattiges Plätzchen, ideal zum Entspannen. Drumherum grasen die Kühe mit Kuhglocken. Massimo wohnt in der Wohnung darüber. Man hört ihn manchmal. Die Unterkunft ist ganz gut ausgestattet – es war soweit alles da, was man braucht. Der Weg hinauf zur Hütte ist zwar kurvig und stellenweise schmal, aber gut machbar. Mit dem Auto braucht man etwa 6 Minuten ins Dorf hinunter, wo es einen kleinen Minimarkt gibt, falls man noch etwas vergessen hat. Richtig schön war eine Wanderung vom Lago di Antrona zum Lago di Campliccioli und drumherum. Auch eine Wanderung oberhalb der Unterkunft am Lago Alpe dei Cavalli lohnt sich. Man kann sogar Steinböcke sehen. Ein wirklich schöner Ort zum Entspannen.

Wow! Margherita’s place looks even better than in the photos! There is a nice view from the porch of the apartment, and everything is very clean and spacious. We were so impressed and loved staying here. Margherita was very helpful and provided recommendations for us on hikes to do and was just in general a great host. We highly recommend this place and would stay here again if we come back.

L’alloggio è molto bello, ampio, pulitissimo, tutto come da descrizione. Perfetto per 4 persone. Viviana è stata gentilissima e accogliente (ha preparato anche un cestino per la nostra merenda!). Un appartamento tranquillo e da tenere presente per una vacanza ad alagna.

What can I say: the chalet is enchanting and Margherita/Matilde are wonderful and responsive co-host. The chalet may not tick every single box in terms of modern comforts, but for a precious 600 year old building in a mountain hamlet it is incredibly well designed and equipped. We found it in immaculate conditions and equipped at a very high standard (no dish washer, but there is no space for it). Most things were provided for, rather than the bare empty cabinets one often finds. No central heating; the pellet stove is very cosy and warms up the place very nicely, but it needs to be turned on and off (no time programming). The location is equally enchanting, but it’s a vigorous trek up, so it may not be for everybody. I was moved the moment I walked in, so magical is the place, and felt right at home. It may not be for everyone, but it certainly made me and my family feel privileged to be able to share in its history, beauty and warmth. Thank you Virginia and Margherita!

We had a great stay at Casa Carmen. Perfect downtown location for exploring the local area. Restaurants nearby and easy walk to all the sites. The apartment felt like being at a family member's home and despite the heat was a comfortable temperature. We would definitely stay there again if in the area ! Thank you Luca and Marco for your kind hospitality !
