House holiday rentals in Alès

Due to personal circumstances we had to rearrange this holiday 2 times, of which Remy was very understanding. We booked the villa based on how well the photos looked but were really not ready for just how much better the place was in reality! Le Magnanerie is tucked quietly away in a totally idyllic spot in a gorgeous old French hamlet, boasting the most impressive westerly views across the private pool of the Cévennes, with stunning sunsets. The covered outside area is spacious and perfect to escape the direct summer sun, and the thick stone building is naturally cool. Comfortably set over 3 pretty floors with portable air conditioning in the loft bedroom area. Kids bunk beds are perfectly placed and even though everything is wooden, nothing creaks. Local agent Deborah was very helpful and after driving from the UK, we were pleasantly surprised to have had our best family holiday to date here! We rarely return to holiday destinations, however we will certainly be coming back. Merci

My parents stayed in Stéphane's place and had this to say: "He was such a kind, helpful and mannerly host. The accommodation was excellent, really comfortable and clean. He left us teas, coffees etc. He checked that we were happy with everything a couple of times without interfering. He was most accommodating. He has a swimming pool which is lovely and clean. The gardens are amazing with small rock and pebbled pathways, trees and grassy areas. There were a number of villages within driving distance which had anything you might need to buy and lovely areas to explore. We have stayed in many Gites and AirBnBs over the years and we both agree that this is the best one we have ever stayed in."

A perfect little house to escape to! Ideally located in the Cevennes, super quiet, decorated with great taste and well equipped. With extra pool and beautiful pétanque track... And hosts available, responsive and very friendly!

We had an exceptional and rejuvenating stay! The cottage is very well equipped and so pleasant. We enjoyed the pool and the terrace, where the view is breathtaking. Lena & Jean-Claude were fabulous hosts, very helpful & friendly but also discreet. The cottage is super, well equipped & very comfortable - the pictures do not do it justice! A/C in the bedroom was much appreciated! We loved the pool area & outdoor kitchen, & enjoyed barbecuing on the plancha. St Victor la Coste is an unspoilt, un-touristy Provencal village with a good bar/restaurant & boulangerie and great views from the ruined castle a 20min steep walk away. Easy journeys into Avignon, Arles, Uzes & to Pont du Gard. We loved our week in this beautiful cottage & hope to return. Merci Beaucoup Lena & Jean-Claude!

this house hidden in nature is the ideal place for nature and peace seekers. it is big enough for a large group without neighbors to hear or see any thing. a real recommendation in the hills of france

Our stay was perfect from start to finish. The place is beautiful. The garden, pool, sauna, petanque court and house, everything is nice, clean and well thought out. The bedding is extremely comfortable. And Sandrine is so kind! Thank you again for this welcome and this great stay.

We had a great stay at the magnanerie du Monteil. The place is quiet and charming. We were able to benefit from Lydie's many tips on activities (hiking, canoeing, swimming in rivers, visiting charming villages, lunch in good restaurants). A perfect stay!

Great stay in this very comfortable accommodation in which we immediately felt very good. Marion is very welcoming and available! The bedding is extremely comfortable and the accommodation is well equipped. The calm of the place is refreshing. We had a really relaxing stay. I recommend it!!

We had a very good long weekend in Gil and Katy's chalet. Everything is done to facilitate our stay and we were very well received (cold drinks and ice cubes available upon arrival). The chalet is clean and comfortable, the big plus of this stay: a real unlimited jacuzzi We'll be happy to go back!

We had a great week at Nathalie's. The terrace has an exceptional orientation. The house is tastefully decorated. We didn't miss a thing. Both in terms of equipment and sites to visit. A supermarket located within walking distance is also a plus. Thanks again to Nathalie for this successful stay.

A haven of peace! Tastefully decorated home. The bed is very large and very comfortable. Functional accommodation and corresponding to the listing. The hot tub is a real plus!! There were 2 of us with a dog and everything was suitable (closed gate and spacious grounds).

An excellent place to stay. Isolated house but at the same time very close to Alés, and excellently located to visit various points in the Cevennes. If you're looking for comfort, peace, greenery, this is the place for you :)

What a beautiful garden! And the pool was very popular, in these beautiful days. The whole is atypical: the bedrooms (2 out of 3 are equipped with bathroom and toilet), the living room, the kitchen-dining room are in three different places (but very close to each other). It is therefore not a house, strictly speaking, but a set of places, all extremely pleasant. If I had to find a fault: one of the three bedrooms, intended for children, does not have a bathroom. It may bother some, but not us. Another nice point: a petanque court, and many small details that show that the hosts pay great attention to the visitors.

We were hosted very well by our hosts. The cottage met our expectations, very well-equipped and very clean. Recommended for a stay with family or friends.

Awesome character home on the vineyard. matches the photos perfectly, great access to the vineyard grounds where you can see chickens, horses and sheep as you walk around. Perfect for walking into town or day trips to Montpellier & Nimes. Ticked all the boxes for us.

The property is lovely and the hosts were very welcoming and respectful and helpful with suggestions. Our only critique would be that the pool whilst lovely is not private and shared with the hosts who admittedly did not use it whilst we were there and if you like me love to cook the oven was portable and a slight challenge to use. The village and walks were incredible and the location near to Uzes, Nimes and Avignon makes for a lovely stay. A big thank you to Pascal and Catherine x

We had a particularly pleasant stay in more ways than one. The hosts are very welcoming and friendly. Everything is clear and well organized. The accommodation is individualized so that you feel perfectly comfortable there. The available space is considerable, impeccably maintained. It was an absolutely perfect stay for the 4 of us. Between swimming pool, ping pong, trampoline and badminton, the only difficulty was making a choice :) Inside everything is very clean, tidy and perfectly organized. Everything is easily accessible. Special mention to the bedding, extremely comfortable. Really, a gem! Many thanks to our hosts who welcomed us so warmly.

The place is simply sublime. The house is beautiful and the environment is a real postcard. It is a peaceful place, between stones and nature. The owners are adorable and Blandine is really responsive. Thank you very much.

Lovely apartment with great attention to detail, well accessible by car. It was surprisingly spacious and extremely well equiped. We loved it and can definitely recommend! It's a more isolated village, but lots of nature and activities to do nearby

The house in the small Hamau is very quiet and very private. The nature, the surroundings, the house and the pool are brilliant. We were completely undisturbed. We had contact with Johanne several times by phone. She gave us a lot of tips and detailed explanations. We were even allowed to meet her mother Nathalie with her partner in person. As well as the neighbors, an artist who showed us his studio (out of sight) and who rebuilt all the Hamau years ago. They were all sooo warm! We spent unforgettable holidays here! We will definitely be back!
