Rustic Home in Montserrat

This rustic home situated in a secluded valley in Montserrat National Park, 60km from Barcelona was built after the Napoleonic wars. The legend has it that it was built with money stolen from the corpses of the defeated French soldiers after the battle of El Bruc. I rebuilt the house from a near ruin, respecting the original structure in 1992. I have decorated it with a notable and very personal collection of art. There is a picturesque view from every window.

We absolutely loved our stay, sadly didn’t get to meet Manuel as he wasn’t available for the check in, but he was extremely responsive throughout the stay. The villa is gorgeous and absolutely huge, bbq is a great touch and we too full advantage of the kitchen utilities. Only issue was lack of mirrors in the bedrooms and that wifi doesn’t quite reach all places in the house. We would stay again.

We had an amazing stay! Despite our late arrival, we were warmly welcomed — and even found everything we needed for breakfast the next morning, which was such a thoughtful touch. The house itself is incredible: spacious, impeccably clean, and filled with all the little details that make a stay truly comfortable. This Airbnb is a hidden gem and absolutely deserves more bookings. Highly recommended! ☀️

I stayed here for a week and even though I am familiar with Igualada this was a great location only 10 mins max from the centre but in a nice quiet space! Perfect for a solo traveller or a couple! Everything you need is there so much light and brightness! Great hosts easy to communicate with and helpful if needed! Would stay again anytime!
