This apartment has an inside outside feel which is real Caribbean. It has a loft bedroom but absolutely needs no cooling. It has wonderful breeze from the Atlantic ocean and the Fitches Creek bay. The patio overlooks the bay. Return from the beach and other activities to absolute tranquility and have the best of both worlds. Limited public transportation. No bus schedules but very accommodating bus driver. Taxis are also available. Your host will assist for small fees.
“Chrys's place is quite in a nice residential neighbourhood, the place is clean, perfect for me and my friend. On the last day, Chrys also did a welcome breakfast antigua style, and we got the opportunity to lean a little about the history of antigua and the people. THe drive to the St. Johns is about 20 minutes, and we had no problem driving to english harbour for the beaches on the west side. Will recommend this place if you are not looking for a super tourist area.”
PROTOCOLS CERTIFIED AGAINST COVID-19 Beautiful apartment located at Halcyon Heights. This recently renovated unit enjoys one of the best views on the island from the hills that surround Dickenson bay and its white sands that can be reached by one minute drive or ten minutes walk down the hill.
“I've stayed in AirBnB's all over the world and this one was probably my favorite so far. The view from the front veranda is absolutely spectacular. It is better than the photos. I wish I could post my own, but even that wouldn't do it justice. It was so nice to sit outside in the mornings with a fresh French press coffee and look out over the flowers and sea (the room included fresh coffee and a French press). It's a very Instagrammable scene. The interior furnishings are tasteful and elegant. Several times I spent most of the day relaxing on the veranda. Even though the unit is well located for activities, this area is very quiet day and night. It was like staying in a rural cottage in this respect. The only sounds I could hear most of the time were natural. Rain and wind sounds in the daytime and frogs and crickets in the evenings. It was only a few times over the course of a week that I heard human noises and only during the day. I never heard a car. The owner, Marco, is always around to help or provide suggestions and is very friendly and accommodating with his guests. He has lived here for 20 years and seems to know everyone and everything about the island. The aircon in the bedroom works 24/7 contrary to one of the reports here. You do need to rent a car here. But I cannot imagine not renting a car regardless of where you stay on Antigua. It is not a walkable island. Get a small car because the roads and parking area are small. You'll be glad you did. You can drive to a grocery store in about 5 minutes and to downtown St. John's in 10. Definitely go out to Devil's Bridge National Park—I thought it had the best vistas on the island. The Shirley Heights Lookout above English Harbour is a great place to hike and was my second favorite spot to visit. You could do both in a day, but I gave a day to each. There are several good restaurants nearby. My favorites were Nomad's for the hip atmosphere and great cocktails (their signature rum punch is the best I've ever had) and a local place called Cool Running (for stewed pork and barbie fried chicken). Hemingway's was very nice too. The Shawarma King and Roti King were also good and cheap. There is an Italian place called Bella Vita that is only a 5 minute walk away and they have great pizzas—more New York style than Neapolitan though. NOTE: If you have the WikiBuy extension installed in your browser it will suggest that you can book the same place for slightly less on a different website. That is NOT true. The place WikiBuy suggested to me is in the same development, but it is not the same unit nor the same owner. That matters! Trust me—book this one.”

“We had a wonderful stay at Lisa and Mark's condo (Feb. 19 to March 4). As others have written the views of the Caribbean Sea and Dickenson Bay, from the large balcony, are outstanding. More beautiful in person than the photos show. The hammock swing chair on the balcony is wonderful. We had daily visits on the balcony from delightful birds and geckos. Communication with Lisa before arrival and during our stay was exceptional. Her booklet of information which you receive before arriving is super. Kitchen facilities and cookware were fine. It is a gas cooktop and gas oven which we are used to. The Wifi was very good - we were surprised as others have mentioned it can be quite slow. We had no problems streaming Netflix and searching the internet. Cable television in the bedroom was great as well for some down time. The bathroom was clean and modern. Plenty of hot water which you control with a switch - it is lovely and hot within minutes. There is no air conditioning but the condo is advertised as having no air conditioning. There are two large floor fans and two large ceiling fans which worked very well to keep the condo comfortable. Also, the trade winds from the open windows and balcony doors were wonderful. The condo itself is very spacious. I was really pleased with the swimming pool, lounge chairs, and decking - wonderful to cool off in, sunbath by, and chat with a few other guests from around the world. Because we stayed two weeks the condo was cleaned for us and fresh linens and towels provided half way through our stay - thanks Jeniffer! There is a property manager on site to sort out any small problems. We made use of a communal washing machine on site ($5.00 Cdn. per load). We rented a car which is essential as it is a long walk down to Dickenson Beach and back up (we are in our 60s and do have slight mobility issues). Driving is an experience but it was all part of our adventure. We made it to Redcliffe Quay in St. John's, Sting Ray City, the Donkey Sanctuary, English Harbour, and the Wadadli Catamaran Cruise on our own. We hired a wonderful driver, Craig, to take us to the Shirley Heights BBQ and steel pan drumming on Sunday night which was super. Craig was recommended by Lisa. We also made it on our own to the following restaurants (all wonderful): Cecilia's High Point Cafe, Cloggy's, Stella's, Roti King (in St. John's), Sheer Rocks, Salt Plage on Dickenson Beach, and the Trade Winds Hotel just above our condo. Yes, there is music noise and some chatting from the Trade Winds Hotel directly above the condo but it did not bother us at all. We purchased groceries at the Epicurean Grocery Store just a short drive away. Sorry for my long review. Location of this condo is super and Lisa and Mark are outstanding hosts. We would love to return and are a little sad to be back home!! Wendy & Peter”
