After visiting Asakusa Temple, I cross Monzen-dori Street with the dimly lit five-storied pagoda in the background, and find myself in front of Asakusa Shoten Kannon. By the time I finished taking a bath at the Asakusa-style bathhouse, the city was covered in darkness, and neon lights began to flicker in the alleys on both sides of the Yanagido. As I walk quickly to the restaurant, I pass geisha on their way to work, and through the warm curtain of a sushi restaurant, and then stop by a soba restaurant, where the food is surprisingly delicious... Kannonzaka, once loved by literary writers and the like, is still one of the largest, most traditional, and formal neighborhoods in Tokyo.
