The village is a great base for country walks in the Kent Downs, with plenty of local pubs for pit stops, or visits into Canterbury for its vibrant nightlife. Bus Services to Canterbury, Dover and the surrounding villages. Train service from Canterbury to London, Dover and Whitstable. Why visit Watling House... - Fantastic walks in an area of outstanding natural beauty - Lots of local amenities on your doorstep - three village pubs, local shop, butchers and a frequent bus service into Canterbury (approx 10 mins). - Close to the historic cathedral city of Canterbury. Visit the Cathedral, Canterbury Tales and the historic city walls. - You can nip up to London on the UK's first highspeed service from Canterbury West (approx 55 mins) or a day trip to France (approx 20 mins from the Port of Dover and the Channel Crossing). We haven't been able to list all of the great things to do in the area but can always tell you more... we would recommend a trip to one of the local Kentish vineyards for some famous English Fizz!

Dog friendly Little Appleby is located in Egerton, rural Kent, the Garden of England. We are well placed for the tunnel with Folkestone, Le Shuttle 20 miles away. Egerton adjacent to Pluckley boasts many lovely country walks with huge Dering woods walkable from the listing and the villages of Goudhurst and Sissinghurst within 20 minutes. By car, Rye, Canterbury & Whitstable are within 40 minutes Ashford Designer outlet is 25 minutes away. The dog friendly restaurant and pub is a 5 minute walk.

Beautiful Dungeness house right on the beach with ever changing views of the sea all year round. The house incorporates an original train carriage and the living space is open plan. The well equipped kitchen includes a generous dining table and chairs, which also looks out across the beach. There are two double bedrooms within the carriage as well as a shower room. An ideal place to explore Dungeness as well as discovering the wider area including Rye, Folkestone and the Romney Marsh.

Historic and beautiful Leeds castle is only 4 miles away and the city of Canterbury is 23miles. Lenham has rail link to London and Ashford. 4.5 miles to junction M20 junction 8.

There may be some noise during normal working hours (Mon–Fri, but evenings and weekends are generally quiet.

Fully refurbished in 2022, Sparrow’s Nest Cottage is set alongside a Victorian house and has picturesque views of the rolling North Downs. The cottage is right on the North Downs/Pilgrim’s Way and is 6 miles from the historic cathedral city of Canterbury. The barn is in the grounds of our 15th century house but nicely private. It’s decorated in modern rustic style, with underfloor heating and a wood burner. Outside is a fire pit for toasting marshmallows and stargazing before climbing into the king-size bed, dressed with soft Egyptian cotton. There's a walk-in rain shower and robes, books, DVDs, games, WiFi and a Smart TV. Tear yourself away to explore forests, gardens, vineyards, castles, and National Trust houses.
